Label Created
I bought a rather expensive item from a seller with 100+ 100% positive feedback and we were communicating just fine for the first few days. They marked the item as shipped and supplied a tracking number but it then proceeded not to change from "label created" for the next 7 days. I sent them a few messages and the were responding and said this exact message "It was dropped off lastnight it will get here before the end of the week" but it still hasn't changed and they have suddenly stopped responding to me. What does this mean? Thanks!

·7 months agoCould be legit, could be not. I had something similar happen a couple months ago - zero movement on the package after a label was created, then after 8-10 weeks a package magically appeared - and was marked delivered, but not delivered to me. It was delivered to someone else in my zip code. Found out after I called USPS. Thankfully, this was 6 weeks after I already received a refund.
If you don't see any movement after a week, file an Item Not Received case, don't wait for the 30 day window to lapse.

I think buyers obsess too much over tracking. All that really matters is the last estimated delivery date. If an item doesn't arrive by then I'll reach out to the seller for an update on when it was mailed. If the seller doesn't respond I'll wait a few more days then open an item not received case. You have 30 days from the last estimated delivery date to open a case.
A few years ago I bought a $2000 item on eBay. The seller never sent a tracking number at all, but the item arrived when it was supposed to. Lack of tracking isn't necessarily a bad sign.

·7 months agoeBay is notorious for not having their tracking API update properly. Typically looking up the tracking on the carrier itself usually shows more frequent updates.

·7 months agoThere was an estimated delivery date seen in the listing when you made your purchase.
If it hasn't arrived by that date, and there is no tracking proving it is traveling, you can open an INR case the day after that date, or you can give it a few more days, making sure that you don't let this slide past 30 days after the last estimated delivery date.

·7 months agoHad a similar experience a week ago. The USPS is swamped right now with numerous packages arriving later than expected. I had one package sit at the PO for 5 days before it started moving. Given the number you report for the seller I wouldn't worry. It will get to you eventually.
Many sellers don't like being pestered over and over with the same question. The seller has dropped it off and it is now in the hands of the shipping entity.

From the way it reads, it sounds like the tracking isn't updated beyond "label created" which means that either eBay is not getting updates, or the tracking has not been scanned by the carrier yet. It could also mean:
They could try going to the shipper website, putting in the given tracking number and see if that shows progress. That would eliminate eBay as a problem.
But I suspect they are going to get the same info they already have.
Some items don't have a tracking number either. I have an item I ordered this week that has no tracking status because its being mailed by standard envelope mail, not something that would have tracking. Considering the entire order was 5 bucks including the shipping, that makes sense.

OP7 months agoYes. That's where I was seeing label created. However, I just got a response from the seller saying they'd call and see what was going on.
