Kindly help with bidding issue!
Hello all!
Kindly help with a major problem I'm having with big consequences on my life - The gist of what's happened is that I accidentally bid on a 'custom gaming PC' that I simply do not have the funds to pay for. I simply don't; I literally don't have the money for it. After some researching, I contacted the seller yesterday and asked them if they would kindly take my bid down. I don't hear anything from them, but that's fine because lucky for me, someone outbids me later in the day. Great, I thought, problem solved. Well, I get a notification on my phone shortly before the bid ends that the bidder *ahead* of me had their bid cancelled/was able to cancel their bid. And now I'm stuck paying for something I don't have the funds to do. Is there any recourse for me? It wouldn't be so frustrating if the Seller would simply respond to the messages I've sent but apparently they do not want to. In my research, I thought I remembered reading that you could cancel a bid so long as you did it, like, 24 hours before the bid ended or something like that. Which my request to cancel was definitely before the threshold I remembered reading.
Any help? Please, I literally cannot pay for this thing.
Thanks all.

Why are you bidding on items you can't afford?

OP2 years agoOne of this situations where my account balance was positive at first glance, but that's because there was still a pending charge for a bill that hasn't cleared. I should mention I'm also not amazing with finances.

·2 years agoNo one can force you to pay. Maybe the seller will cancel the sale, maybe he won’t.
If he does not, after a handful of days, the seller can give you an unpaid item strike. Get two of those, and many sellers will prevent you from bidding on their items.
Not the end of the world, but please be more careful when placing bids.
