Item hasn't arrived and I am unable to lodge a complaint or open a ticket
I purchased an item in July, last year. The item was listed as a "pre-order", so I knew it would take a while. This is a reputable seller and I have bought items from them in the past.
Fast forward 13 months, I haven't received the item. The seller insists the item is stuck at customs and they haven't even received it at their end from the manufacturer. I am done with their excuses and want a refund. My hands are tied though as I am unable to contact customer support or open a ticket.
How do I get my money back? I am at my wits' end.
Thanks.

·2 years agoAll presale items are suppose to be available to be shipped within 40 business days. You most likely are out your money.

·2 years agoHere's a link to eBay's policy on presales. As you can see, sellers are not supposed to list a presale which they cannot ship within 40 business days. The seller should have refunded buyers if they couldn't ship within that time frame, or buyers such as yourself could have filed claims for "Item not received."
As noted in the other posts, you have been too patient and have no recourse left through eBay, PayPal, nor payment processors such as credit cards.

OP2 years agoI was able to use the eBay call back option. I spoke to a customer support agent and they have agreed to proceed with a refund. I’ll believe it when I see the money in my account though.

·2 years agoPlease come back and let us know if eBay gave you a refund. Sometimes they will give out a courtesy refund from their pocket but usually the rep will tell you what you want to hear to get you off the phone.

Pre-sale items are not supposed to be listed on ebay, if they are not available to be shipped within 30 days of making the purchase.
Because of the length of time you have waited, you have no recourse for getting a refund from eBay, PayPal, or your card provider.
eBay only gives you 30 days from the last estimated delivery date shown in the Order Details to file an Item Not Received (INR) dispute.
PayPal gives you 180 days (about 6 months) from the date of purchase to file an INR.
Card providers have different time frames to file from 60 - 180 days.
