Item has been delivered, but it hasnt - what are my options
Hi,
I purchased an item and the seller shipped it and provided the tracking number. A few days later the tracking says it was delivered, when I checked it was shipped back to the seller. I contacted the seller and they said the post office returned the item because it did not meet USPS Media Mail specifications. The seller said he would resolve the issue.
Its been a week and the seller has not responded to my emails. I can not cancel the order because ebay says the item has shipped. I can not return the item because there is nothing to return.
What are my options?
Thanks

If you are adverse to starting a return request @grumpy_bear_collectibles for the Missing Parts or Pieces reason since you didn't receive any portion of the item, for your seller to either
- promptly refund and close the case, or
- issue a prepaid return label to send printouts of the tracking and the seller's messages for a refund
File an Item Not Received dispute here to get your refund within 5 calendar days, if that's how you paid. Otherwise same with your card issuer, to get your refund.

"A few days later the tracking says it was delivered, when I checked it was shipped back to the seller... The problem is the tracking shows it was delivered. So "item not received" does not come up as an option".
In your purchase history for the item, if you click on the More actions button "I didn't receive it" is one of the options, you can use. Before filing the Item Not Received (INR) dispute check the full tracking info on the Order details.
The first thing you'll see there is a bar w/ Paid ---- Shipped ---- Delivered, but under that is a track package button, when you click on that the last received scan shows up first. It will show a delivery date and something like: Delivered, Front door/Porch below City, State, Zip Code 12345. If the city state and zip are not yours you will win an INR dispute, but you may lose the initial dispute, and have to appeal the decision.
When an INR dispute is filed it will show up on your My ebay summary page. eBay's automated INR system only looks for a Delivered scan, not at any other info so the case may be closed in favor of the seller, and there will be a note saying that in the dispute. However, there will be an Appeal button in the notice.
If the full tracking does not show your address and zip. Click on the Appeal button, write a short message: "I did not receive my item, it was returned to the seller for using Media Mail, inappropriately as the item did not qualify for that service. The package was returned to the seller's address, it was not delivered to my address. Check the screen shot below".
Because you cannot take a screen shot of the Pop up tracking info. Copy and paste the tracking number in to the USPS.com tracking site. On the tracking page You will see a check mark & Delivered to address city, state, zip. Below that is a See All Tracking History click on it Take a screen shot that shows the tracking number and the history especially if there is a returned to sender notice. A real person will review the information and overturn the original decision, and a refund initiated.

·2 years agoIf the tracking provided in the purchase transaction states the item was returned to sender for postal violations & it is now beyond the estimated delivery date, go here: Get help with an item that hasn't arrived
As mentioned, this may trigger a correction by the seller or it may not. But, as it was initially listed, if the item purchased does not conform to USPS Media Mail Standards: USPS Media Mail , then the transaction should be refunded by the seller upon receipt. But, you have to request it via ebay's process.
Open your request/case. You are on the clock if the date has passed.

·2 years agoIf the seller doesn't get back with you & the estimated delivery date has clearly exceeded the "approximate", within reason, delivery day then open up an item not received claim in the order details. Maybe that will trigger the seller to provide you the new tracking number or issue a refund if there is some other issue.
Good luck!😎

OP2 years agoHi,
The problem is the tracking shows it was delivered. So "item not received" does not come up as an option. All it allows me to do is " return the item". Which there is nothing to return. Am I looking in the wrong place?
