Item damaged but seller declined the return
I received a damaged item, so requested the return. But the seller declined and the case is closed. However, there is no way to ask ebay to step in. Automotive assistant says "something went wrong, can't connect to agent".
Literally there's nothing I can do, this seller's action is not acceptable. Is there anything I can do? Please help.

Your message is not quite complete.
However, if the return case is closed with eBay, you can usually go to your credit card.

Just to reiterate what @gator08041971 said, since your avenues with eBay are closed, you can always go to your payment source (credit card, etc.) and file a dispute with them to get a refund.

That isn't necessarily true. In the case of an item received damaged or not as described, eBay's Money Back Guarantee overrides a seller's "no returns" policy. A seller can put no returns on their listings but if an item arrives damaged or is not as described, and the buyer files a "not as described" claim, the buyer still has to either accept the return, or if they don't want it back, they can just issue a refund. Sometimes a buyer will receive something that is missing parts which should be an "not as described" claim but they get confused and claim "item not received" since they didn't get all the parts. That one will always cause the buyer to lose because they did receive something and all the seller has to do is provide tracking on that to win.
In your case, you did not say what reason you used for the return request. If a buyer wants to return an item because it doesn't fit, they changed their mind, found it cheaper elsewhere, etc., those are remorse returns and a seller can refuse those. If you chose the wrong reason for the return claim, that could be why your return was refused.

If you filed the Return Request, you needed to specify either "Doesn't match description" or "Arrived damaged" or "Missing parts" or "Item is defective" in order for the seller to not be able to decline the return request due to Ebay's Money Back Guarantee.
Did you do that?
If the case is closed, then Ebay cannot step in to help you.

If the seller had listed the item marked as no returns, the reason you chose may have not been permitted. The only way to get past a no returns is if the item was listed as working and functional in the listing, and you chose that the item didn't match the description or photos.
On No Returns sales, that is the only option where you can force a seller to return an item. This should only be used when another method doesn't fit or may cause an issue where the Seller is at fault.. You should never use this option to return items in general.
Alas, if you have already tried to return and it was denied, then your path with eBay may be done. You might have to involve your method of payment to file a claim that way.

OP1 year agoI see.. That makes sense why the seller could decline the return and closed the case.
I should've never purchased the item that not accepcept returns:(
It's very frustrating but I guess I just have to swallow it.
Thank you for your reply. It helped me to understand the situation and learned for the next shopping.
