Is there a way for a bidder to contact another bidder?
Someone bought an item on ebay I wanted to buy. This happened just as I was about to purchase the item. Is there a way for me to contact the buyer to ask if they would consider selling me the item at a higher price than what they paid for it? I was going to pay double what they paid, maybe more if I had to. If the buyer leaves the seller feedback then only partial ebay I'd is shown, so searching for the buyer is difficult.

·2 years agoIf you were willing to pay more, why not bid the most you would have been willing to pay as close to the end of the auction as possible?

·2 years agoMaybe the buyer knew the higher value of the item and plans to resell it for the higher amount. Set up an automatic watch with appropriate keywords, so that you are notified by message if the buyer lists the item for sale. Good luck.

·2 years agoIn a word- NO. Ebay protects each bidders identity in an auction, exactly for the reasons Kathiec states in her post..... move on.

·2 years agoThis is the exact reason eBay started hiding bidders' identities. Before this was instituted I was always getting messages from someone who wanted to buy what I won or were just angry I outbid them. It was hella obnoxious. Accept that you lost the item and move on.

·2 years agoIt is against ebay policy to do so.
Ebay hides full identities so buyers cant harass another buyer for the item they won fair and square..
Leave the seller alone also.

OP2 years agoThe other bidder made an offer to the seller thru the "best offer" and the seller accepted it just before I was about to click on "buy it now" I tried messaging the seller that if the other buyer doesn't pay or returns the item then I would buy the item, but the seller didn't respond. So any ideas?

·2 years agoNo there is no way to do so and it is against ebay policy for the seller to provide you with any info on the bidder so don't ask the seller to break policy.
