Is there a place on Ebay where BUYERS can make requests for certain collectibles?
I am looking for certain collectible items and get so tired of waiting months or longer for these certain types of collectibles to be posted on Ebay, if ever. Are there discussion boards where BUYERS, like myself, can post requests for certain or specific types of items to purchase? Most of the collectibles that I am looking for come from Germany and this can pose some problems, mainly because some sellers overseas do not do international shipping. Nevertheless, it would be awesome if I can find what I am looking for and try to work with people to get it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

·1 year ago@zagg I don't collect toys but I do collect coins and I have the same issues with searching for specific items.
I've had a LOT of luck/results using this search tool. https://picclick.com/ It's specifically for eBay.
If you click the 3 little lines to the far right, you can select a specific country, USA or all international.
I've found many of the items I was looking for. Be aware not all the listings will ship to your location so do your due diligence and check the sellers shipping restrictions.

OP1 year agoI've seen the picclick.com before, but only thought it was simply pictures that were posted on the web and not actual posting of the item itself. I'll check it out in more detail...

Unfortunately, unless you contact seller's on the Euro sites translating messages into their language, it can be difficult to get some of them to allow you to buy their items. Now with the confusion about tariffs, it may cause fewer foreign sellers to want to ship to the U.S.
Without knowing what it is you collect, it can be hard to offer suggestions on how you might find the items you want for sale by seller's in countries that do more commonly ship to the U.S. or are based here.
Back in the day when I was building a collection of toys by an Italian maker who didn't market many of their items in the U.S., that only had a makers mark on them. I started searching the Euro sites mostly in Italy, England, France & Germany, where I knew the toys were strongly marketed. I had an easier time finding sellers who would ship to this country. Sometimes, I had to practically beg them to agree to ship the items, but I did find enough who would or already did ship to here, to complete the collection.
Now with the eBay International Shipping (EIS) program it might be easier to get a seller in Germany or elsewhere in Europe to ship items to you if you suggest it to them as the shipping method. Then they only have to worry about shipping the item to an EIS hub location in their country and ebay does the rest.
Again depending on what you collect you may find the item(s) available in the U.S. for sale by sellers who do not know what they have, using more general search terms may return more results you have to sift through but you may find some of what you are searching for in the results by using the left column filters.

OP1 year agoIt is great to hear that we both collect toys, yours from Italy and mine from Germany. I've tried using Ebay Germany, but most sellers do not ship to the United States for various reasons. I guess I could mention this "eBay International Shipping (EIS) program" which I was not aware of. I guess I need to get more information on it so that I can point it out them...
What "Euro Sites" are you referencing? The only site that I found that had what I was looking for was called "Kleinanzeigen". Unfortunately, they do not allow access to anyone is the Americas (cannot create an account), because, and this is their reason, "too many fake or stolen phone numbers".
I appreciate the information and will try to get more on the eBay International Shipping (EIS) program...

There used to be a "wanted to buy" program here years ago. Sellers basically abused it by inundating buyers with unrelated products. The seller could only post an item number if I recall correctly. I made quite a few sales that way, but I was very careful to only use the program if I had "the exact thing" a buyer was requesting.
eBay did away with it. You might try using "advanced search". It doesn't work as well as it used to, but it is a starting point for a "saved search".
