Iphone advertised with 1 year warranty only to learn upon receiving it, it is $79
I recently purchased an Iphone 16E and it was advertised with a 1 year warranty. I scanned the QR code after receiving the phone to activate the warranty and it is $79.00! What happened to transparency? If I make a purchase decision based on the features and benefits offered but complete information isn't forthcoming that is a normal buyer-seller transaction, how am I to trust? I am unable to leave feedback for this seller and all the feedback that is in the reviews is positive suggesting the reviews are edited/monitored. I am so disappointed. It was one of my first larger purchases on Ebay and now I will re-think utilizing EBay for future purchases. I sent a message to the seller and do hope to hear from them. Has this happened to anyone else? I am growing weary of exploitive business practices.

·4 months agoI don't think the seller is trying to pull one over. I think they just misunderstood the warranty. Another reason sellers should not mention warranty information.

·4 months agoWhich is why it is best to purchase phones at a local dealer. Ebay only gives you 30 days and that's it.

·4 months agoEbay has no control over sellers that advertise warranties on their items.

·4 months agoThe one year warranty on eBay Refurbished items is provided by eBay, not the seller. The warranty does come with certain conditions. Are you a US resident?

·4 months agoIf I was that seller, I'd be reimbursing you for the warranty. No question about it

·4 months agoWhile the seller stated that there is a one year warranty - The reality is...
Manufacturers offer the warranty, and There are few, if any, manufacturers that will honor a warranty for an item not sold through an authorized seller such as Target, Walmart, etc.
I'm surprised you were offered a warranty by the manufacturer, sorry to hear that there is a cost involved, But your phone did arrive not as described - and you can open a INAD and start the process on returning the phone for a refund.

·4 months agoTechnically listing never mentioned one year free warranty…phone arrives as described and warranty was included..🥃..p.s. yes, I know…warranty should be free…but it works with authorized dealers only…the same applies to auto industry..in most cases transfer fees apply..
