If a seller never responds to combined shipping do you get buyer’s strike?
If I commit to buying 20 of a small item that has a $5 shipping charge and the invoice comes with a $100 shipping charge and the seller never adjusts it down do I get flagged as a non-paying buyer for not paying?

If yes, contact the seller again requesting a revised shipping charge, to issue payment.

Here's a pleasant experience I had by doing just that. Two listings by the same seller of items that made up a set if put together. I expressed concern about overall price if I ordered them separately to seller through a message.
The seller messaged me back and asked if they made one listing out of two would I be interested. I replied yes and seller didn't lower the combined shipping price all that much but lowered the overall cost to me with discounting the base price of the items. Either way would have saved me money. Needless to say I put that seller on my saved seller list and will no doubt be a return customer in the future.
A lot of sellers will cooperate with a request if a fair offer is made in respect of the seller making a profit.....................

·9 months agoIf combined shipping was not offered, yes that is what you have to pay.
That being said, any seller worth their salt will refund you back the difference if there's a major discrepancy. That's something you want to ask about before checking out! 🙂

·9 months agoYes which is why it is very important for you to contact the seller in advance to find out if they combine ship and what actual shipping cost is. If they aren't responding then do not buy the items. I wouldn't purchase 20 items with the assumption of just randomly getting a refund from a seller on shipping cost. If I am a buyer and I am interested in 20 items but need basic information as to combine shipping total and the seller doesn't respond I take my business elsewhere.

Yes. If you commit to buy items … then you are held responsible for paying for those item.
I would contact the seller prior to taking any action … and ask them what the cost would be to ship 20 of that particular item to my ZIP Code. If I am happy with the total cost, I ask the seller to create a new listing for me for 20 of the items … OR follow the seller’s directions on how to proceed to buy the 20 items at the agreed upon total price.

·9 months ago'do I get flagged as a non-paying buyer'...yes...'20 times'?...probably but not sure.
I would purchase the 20 items and hopefully the seller will refund the extra shipping charge.
A seller doing a refund on shipping is real easy. I do it many times.
We just went through the holiday season and the seller was probably too busy to do the discount on shipping at this time.

·9 months agoI should also mention, many sellers will partially refund you after the sale to give you the discount. For example, you $100, but it cost $20, they will refund you $80. But there is a trust factor to it. In ebay's eyes, you could still be on the hook for the total amount charged.
I always do the partial refund to show a discount since eBay never accounts for a larger box to ship in, the only can calculate the weight. But back to your concern of the seller not responding, makes it difficult to know and trust what will happen

·9 months agoyes. If you commit, you commit to what you are charged. If the seller doesn't respond to you before you buy, move on. Hopefully you can find the items from another seller who will work with you on shipping.
You are at risk if you just assume they will combine at a lower price...which BTW, you still don't know what that would be without the seller responding.
You can place all 20 items in your shopping cart and then request a total. Hopefully the seller can get you a combined shipping cost and invoice accordingly for you to pay from

OP9 months agoThanks for the reply. Yeah I will probably not be using that feature. Easy enough.

@ryry-jj
If the buyer does that, they are committing to buy the 20 items even if the seller doesn't answer or adjust the price.
It is always better to contact the seller before purchasing any amount of more than one and then expecting the seller to combine/discount shipping.
