I Won an Auction But Realized Incorrect Info On Listing
I won a listing on some golf clubs. When I went to pay, I noticed in the picture they were left handed when I thought they were right handed. I went back to the listing and the item description from the seller says right handed. I messaged the seller asking for a refund. If I don't receive a refund, am I obligated to purchase this item? Here's a picture where it says left-handed and right-handed on the same page.

What you originally wrote is a bit confusing.

If you have not yet paid how can you get a refund? If you did pay how long after doing that did you message the seller? If you messaged the seller shortly after paying, they may not have seen your message yet. You need to give them a day or so to reply. If your seller lists a lot of golf clubs they may have accidentally posted photos of a left handed set instead of a right handed set. You may get a reply saying they made a mistake, and the set you will receive is actually right handed.
If the seller refuses to cancel, and you receive a left handed set, you can file an item Not As Described (INAD) dispute. The seller will then have 3 days to reply by sending you a return shipping label. If they do not, on day 4 you can ask ebay to step in and a refund will be issued without you having to return the clubs.
In that case, if you paid a reasonable price for the set, you may be able to make money by selling them yourself locally. Us lefties have to pay quite a bit more for our clubs, even for used ones. As one of my favorite Tee's says:
"everybody is born right handed, but only the gifted can overcome it".

·3 years agoIf the seller described them a right-handed clubs shouldn't you be able to file an INAD? Seems pretty clear.
So either the seller can simply cancel the auction due to " buyer request" or he can foolishly ship them to you and deal with an INAD return.

·3 years agoThe seller would be smart to just cancel. Make sure you point out that the seller used LEFT handed in the item specifics and picture and yet they typed in RIGHT handed in the description.

·3 years agoWell if you paid, you purchased the item. Did the seller make an error by showing the wrong photo of a left handed golf club and the description says right handed. Tell the seller to please CANCEL the sale with the excuse that the BUYER REQUESTED. Tell him that he made the error and these clubs are useless. Tell him that if he ships , you will accept the package, inspect and if they are the wrong clubs, you will open an item NOT as described case and he will have to pay the return shipping and issue a full refund to you.
Always triple check an item before you buy it and definitely before you pay for it. Try to view items on a desktop where the photos are nice and big.

·3 years agoHave you paid? (sounds like not- so nothing to do). If seller cancels, it would be helpful for you to NOT get a 'not paid' strike... but if it's not a habit, no big deal.
