I think this listing is a scam, and I bought two of these

The seller shipped without tracking, which is very suspect. Not sure how to handle this. I want to do things in the proper order, so I will be covered by buyer protection.

OP1 year agoI'm coming back here to post the whole story in case anyone else runs into this kind of scam.
1. I saw a really cheap item that I wanted and even though I knew better, I bought two.
2. Seller marked the order as shipped, but didn't provide the tracking.
3. I messaged the seller and asked for the tracking number. Seller replied with a Fedex tracking number (which showed that the delivery was to my city and state), and then they updated the order with a UPS tracking number that showed the items as delivered, and that they were delivered to an entirely different city, state.
4. At this point I knew it was a scam and that I needed to find out how to proceed so I would be covered under buyer protection, so I called eBay. The very helpful representative said to go ahead and report the seller, and wait for the package with the Fedex tracking to show up.
5. The Fedex tracking showed delivered to my city and state, but no package.
6. I tried to report a missing package on the Fedex website and was asked for my delivery address to ensure the security of the package. I gave my address and got the message: "The address you entered does not match our records. Please verify your information and try again."
7. I called Fedex and they couldn't help (you can skip this step because they truly can't help).
8. I called eBay again to confirm that I needed to open an INR, and they told me to do it.
9. I was refunded in 20 minutes.

·1 year agoGlad to hear that this did work out well for you; however, a little puzzled. You state there was tracking proving delivery, but first, to your city and state, then you state an entirely different city and state. Two different tracking numbers for one package? eBay allowed you to open an INR and you were refunded in 20 minutes? Strange, but good for you anyway.

Most likely eBay will make you wait a day PAST the original estimated delivery date to file an "Item not received" claim. Should tracking magically appear that shows a 'delivered' scan, AND YOU GO NOTHING, please come back here for the next steps. If you file an INR when there is a delivered scan associated with your order, you are going to lose.
I would imagine you were not able to readily see the seller's feedback/profile page since they have ZERO feedback. Your seller was registered in the beginning of Dec.

OP1 year agoSo they messaged me and gave me a fedex tracking number that shows a shipment coming to my address (or at least city and state), and then put a UPS tracking number on the orders (I ordered two, in two separate orders) and now they show delivered, and the tracking shows that they were delivered to a totally different state. So yeah, I got scammed.

·1 year agoYou need to file a claim for 'Item not received," which you should win because the tracking does not show delivery to your location.

OP1 year agoI'm worried that if I file INR claim now, they're going to switch it to the tracking number they gave me through a private message, and it shows that the package is coming to my city and state. Then, when the package shows up and it's empty or something, I won't be able to file another INR claim because I already filed one.

The processor chip would probably sell for about this price.

·1 year agoJust wait until after the latest estimated delivery date shown in the transaction (not on the listing page). Here's a link to eBay's buyer protection policy, which they call the "Money Back Guarantee":

The listing says that the seller will ship via UPS Ground Saver, which definitely has tracking -- perhaps he has just chosen not to share it with your. AFAIK, all US package shipping services automatically include tracking.
