I lost over $450 - no item received and no recourse!!!
Summary: goldcanyonumc expressed frustration over a purchase on eBay where a commercial coffee maker was paid for but never received, and the seller became unresponsive. The issue was not addressed within eBay's 30-day window, leaving goldcanyonumc unsure of what steps to take. christworks and mudshark61369 advised pursuing a chargeback with the credit card company, as the seller may have been removed from eBay. goldcanyonumc is working within the timeframe allowed by the church's credit card policy to seek a refund.
I am new to purchasing on ebay. Bought a commercial coffee maker for this church (church account) less than 2 months ago and have never heard anything from the seller. I initiated contact with the seller twice because that's what ebay directs you to do and now.... I just tried to report it never received and the window to do anything has closed. I feel like crying! This is the church's money and I'm so frustrated and in disbelief that Ebay won't do anything. It's still showing in my account as "awaiting shipment" so there's no dispute that I never received it. Any suggestions for what to do?

Since it has been nearly 2 months since you ordered the item to find the last estimated delivery date from the day you made the purchase go to your purchase history and click on the Order details button, it should show up there. If you open the listing itself the estimated delivery date shown on it will be if you bought the item today.
You have 30 days from the date in the order details, to file an item not received dispute using the More actions link posted in the purchase history. If you do not see I haven't received it on the page that opens click on the Return item button. That will open a menu which has I haven't received it as one of the reasons. Just in case, I would suggest taking and saving a screen shot of the tracking information today. You may need it if the seller posts a different tracking number that has a delivered scan in your zip code.

OP1 month agoThank you. Just to be clear, the seller went completely AWOL - never sent me anything and never communicated in any way.

You should have posted that bit of info in your first post. The seller most likely did not go AWOL but was kicked off the site by ebay. Did you see a message saying they were

If the 30 day time frame from the last estimated delivery date has passed, and you used a credit card to make the purchase, you will have to file for a refund through them. You may want to tell the CC rep that they never sent the item and let them know the seller was removed from the site by ebay.

OP1 month agoNo- I didn't see anything about them being removed. I reported to a mentor (after they asked) that the seller was awol and no communication, no response, nothing sent. I have initiated with the church credit card- their policy is 60 days from item charge on bill so I'm within that time frame.

·1 month ago@goldcanyonumc I am sorry you had this issue. For the purposes of my post, I am going to assume the seller sent you something. If the order does not show that anything shipped or there is no tracking number and the seller went AWOL let us know.
eBay has a 30-Day Money Back Guarantee. I'm clear why you let it drag out for so long. I don't have to tell you the significane of the number three. My rule of thumb is if someone has not responded within three days (three business days, if you want), then they are not likely going to respond.
For Item Not Received issues, you have 30 days from the last estimate delivery date shown on the order to open a case. You can read more about eBay's 30-Day Money Back Guarntee here.
Unfortunately too much time has passed for eBay to get involved. You can, however, file a chargeback with your financial institution. You will need supporting evidence that you never recieved anything, so if there is nothing in the order that says it was shipped that's a start. If something was shipped and there is a tracking number, can you tell us what that tracking number says. Thanks.

OP1 month agoNo, the seller did not send me anything, nor did they communicate me in any way. The seller is completely AWOL

·1 month ago@goldcanyonumc I am so sorry to hear that. I'm not sure whether you used a personal method of payment or a church's card, but whomever has authority of the card should talk to the bank or credit card about filing a chargeback. I do not know if the rules are different for a non-profit verses a private account holder, so I would definitely get on that ASAP as eBay is definitely out of the picture. Make sure to submit a screen shot of the order showing that the item was never shipped and how much you paid. Screen shot all messages you sent to the seller to show the seller never responded.
Again, sorry this happened especially since you are new to shopping on eBay. Please do not let this bad experience prevent you from shopping eBay in the future. Most of the sellers here are good people who do right by their customers, but just like in the offline world you have bad apples.
If you do decide to buy here again, make sure to read the seller's feedback. If something seems off before or after an order, by all means come here and make a post and someone here will help you. We are all a mix of buyers and sellers.
Edit to add I see in your follow up post to mushark that you used the chuch credit card and you have 60 days. Definitely get on that!
