I have to wonder if EBAY was in on this transaction?
So i order what I thought was a good deal and come to find out it all was a scam. First EBAY has a guarantee that you will always receive what you ordered. Well hasn't happened and will never happen, in my case at least. I gentleman scammed me out of about 700.00 and Ebay isn't willing to help me at all. The guy send out a tracking number of a 4 lbs box (what i ordered was a 85 inch tv), this box was mailed to my zip code and not even to my house. All i get from EBAY is that i turned it over to my credit card company, so they don't have to do a thing.
EBAY gets paid either way, even if i don't get what i paid for.
I have tried to contact anyone to help me. All i get is ebay telling me my case is closed. They closed a day after my delivery date.
If anyone has any ideas on ways to get ebay to answer me that would be great.

·4 months agoUnfortunately, you have been hit by a tracking Scam. Now that you have gone through your credit card, there isn’t anything that eBay will do. Absolutely, eBay has been slow to address this issue – even with full knowledge that it is a big problem.

Can you show us where you see that in writing from eBay?
eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers does NOT guarantee that you'll always receive what you ordered. How could they possibly do that? The MBG, however, does offer help if what you receive is not as described, or if you do not receive it at all.
Your situation, however, is going to require that you seek proof from the delivery service that it was not delivered to your address. But, since you have now apparently involved your CC company, eBay will have washed its hands of the whole deal. Sorry.

·4 months agoCredit card company is so much quicker...unfortunately.
It's too bad nothing can be done about these sellers who scam buyers.
I can't imagine buying a TV on eBay...I would like a warranty from a store if anything goes wrong.
Plus the package that needs special handling care in route.

You're another victim of the fake tracking scam - this has been an ongoing problem with ebay for some time now. Crooked seller collects money for a high dollar item, then ships a trinket to an address in your zip code (often a gas station or convenience store). Seller's hope is that you file an item not received case, ebay sees something was delivered in your zip code, and closes the case. Ebay thus far has been woefully inadequate in addressing this problem. As @house*of*paws states, your credit card company's fraud department is far better equipped to deal with this. At any rate, ebay gets removed from the equation once you involve your payment provider.

·4 months agoHi @jmcdonald46
IF you opened a claim with your credit card company … then eBay will no longer help you with that transaction.
But you don’t need eBay anymore. The Fraud Department of your credit card company is much better equipped to deal with the ‘False tracking scam’. Just stick with them.
But to answer your question … eBay had nothing to do with the scam. It just sounds like you opened the wrong claim with eBay when you’re the victim of this scam. [One needs to open a ‘return request’ instead of an ‘Item not received’. Otherwise, it’s a fast loss when tracking shows that ‘something’ was delivered to your ZIP Code.]

·4 months agoFirst, I can guarantee you ebay was not in on the transaction. This type of situation is known and unfortunate and has happened to many.
I have heard of one idea where the carrier (shipper) is contacted to provide a letter indicating the address was different on the label and not delivered to your home. (Which the order stated).
Then you copy the letter. Then you file a Missing Parts or Pieces claim and you request a return. The seller is supposed to send you a label because it is Missing Parts or Pieces.
When you get the label you can send them the paper you received from the shipping carrier. Once the item shows the return was made you should be refunded by the seller or you may have to ask ebay to step in to escalate the claim.
If you have already contacted your credit card company then this will not work. The credit card company should take care of it as long as they are advised of this fake tracking situation. Providing proof from the carrier is also helpful.
This is just a suggestion. I'm sorry this happened to you. In the future when shopping it is helpful to vet the sellers to make sure they are really not in some other country, a seller that is drop shipping (all stock photos) and feedback should be reviewed before clicking the buy it or bid button.
I truly wish you luck and hope that you can get this fixed.

·4 months agoYour credit card issuer is highly likely to force a refund if you open a dispute and make it clear that you are a victim of a fake tracking scam.
DO IT.

Get a letter from the carrier stating that the package was not addressed or delivered to you.
Go to your purchase history and click return item and select, the item doesn't match the description as the reason.
The seller will have 3 days to accept the return and pay return shipping or refund without returning.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.
If the seller accepts the return and wants something returned, make a copy of the carrier letter and ship it to them.
