The buyer pays you the shipping cost, then you use that to pay for the label
Like if you give me money to get you a book of stamps at the post office, I use that money to get you your book of stamps. It's not my money, it's yours. I give you the book of stamps.

·2 years agoThat is why the buyer is paying YOU. They pay YOU, YOU use the money to pay for shipping. It works like that when YOU yourself buy something online for instance, YOU pay whatever store for shipping and THEY use the money to pay USPS, UPS, or FedEX or whomever else.

OP1 year agoLOL HEY NOVICE, ITS MY MONEY TO SHIP,ITS NOT THIER MONEY !!!!!! MOST HAVE NOT BEEN PAID YET,THE BUYERS SHIPPING COST CHANGES IF SELLER HAS EBAY POSTAL Q LIKE I DO NOW TO GET IT SHIPPED SUPER FAST,THEN,EBAY SENDS ME TOTAL,MINUS ORIGINAL COST OF SHIPPING AND TAKING OUT DISCOUNT TO SHIP,IT GETS TOOK OFF MY PAY FROM EBAY,WHERE IS THAT 14.00 BUCKS BUYER PAID,AND THE 3.50 EBAY CHARGED ME TO SHIP LOL

·2 years agoHi @edwmcmi-3
Many sellers are confused about how shipping funds work at first ... so you're not alone. 🙂
The buyer does pay you for shipping ... but you have to buy the shipping label. Once eBay releases the buyer's funds to you, you'll see that it includes the money the buyer paid for shipping (along with the money they paid for the item) ... minus eBay's fees.

·2 years agoYour buyers are paying you for shipping, you then use what the buyer paid for shipping to purchase the shipping label. Buyers can't purchase the label themselves because they don't have the info to do it i.e. the weight and dimensions of the package.

·2 years agoBuyer pays eBay item + shipping + sales tax.
eBay takes selling fees on that total amount.
eBay remits sales tax to buyer's state.
eBay sends the balance item + shipping (less fees) to the seller.
Seller uses the funds to buy a shipping label.
eBay gave you the buyer's shipping money after taking out their fees so you can use it to purchase the label. View your transaction details here:

·1 year agoI sincerely hope you have this on a "copy and paste". I can't believe how many people ask that question which is by extension an indication of the number of people who don't bother to read the terms BEFORE they sell.

·1 year agoI have approx 90 macros set up and "who pays for shipping" is one of them. I choose it from a drop down list which is even easier than copy/pasting. The question comes up frequently.
