I do not want to use 2 step verification to a mobile number. I see no way in Settings to disable it. Is there anyway around this miserable requirement. I LOATHE the websites that are doing this.

·1 year agoHmm. I'm having a fight to bid on things right now because 'we need to send your cell phone a text to let you bid', so I want to make sure I can disable this, but the only thing I see right now is to set it up with an app notification or authentication code. No disabling.

·1 year ago@airsheep yeah, what you (and many others) are experiencing with bidding is something different from the standard 2FA for account log in - and I'm not entirely sure which one the OP is referring to here.
The bid verification requirement is apparently an intentional change eBay is making "to help enhance the overall experience for buyers and sellers by reducing sniping, shill bidding and unpaid item situations" and not there doesn't appear to be any way to turn it off or opt out.

Oh but you can disable it in settings. You need to sign into eBay in a web browser not the app.
go to your account settings click “Sign in and security†, you will be asked to sign in again.
In the next screen you can click “Turn off†to disable two step verification.
