I bought -- I paid-- Seller cancelled-- So why do I have to wait for refund ????
Simple as that... I bought, I paid, 30 minutes later the seller cancelled the sale, and now I have to wait 3 to 5 days to get a refund??? Just why is that? Seller said he sold item to someone else and so he can't ship it to me. So I wasted my time, didn't get a product I need, and now the refund is on a hold? Are you kidding me? Seems like if the seller refuses to ship that the refund should be immediate. Oh well I suppose it's because they can't credit as fast as they can debit a paypal account. Sad as that is I imagine it's something stupid like that.

·3 years agoDid you at least get an email that the payment was refunded? If yes, at least you know that the seller is not scamming you. Your funds will eventually arrive. Listen to what the others stated.

·3 years agoRefunds are processed through bank/credit card acct the seller has no control over that process.
all the sellers can do is initiate your refund.
You can choose not to do business seller.
Nothing you can do will make the refund immediate.
But feel free to call your bank or credit card company for confirmation

All of the answers so far are correct, however a couple of things were left out of them.
Do you remember having to add your bank account to your profile in the last 2 years? If you do, it was because ebay had started their Managed payment system, and their main payment processor is now Adyen, based in Holland.
So now payments take a couple of days to be processed, and/or to be refunded. If you paid with a credit card, it can take up to 30 days for it to show up on your statement. You can try calling the number on the back of the card to see if a refund is in the works.
If you paid from your PayPal balance or used a debit card your bank may take a couple of days to process the refund and put the funds into your account. Payments from a PayPal balance no longer are refunded back to that account.

·3 years ago@tdebuys So don’t buy on eBay any more. That won’t change how soon you receive the refund you’re waiting for. Sorry, but threats won’t help with that. It takes time to process payments and refunds.

·3 years agoTakes 5 business days for anyone or anything to refund you if it is a credit card.

·3 years agoNeither payments or refunds are instant.
Your account might show the deduction, but it's a day or two after until the transaction is complete and the money is transferred.
Just like refunds, it might take a couple days to complete.
