I am trying to buy a 2009 GSXR 600 I was told by the owners that everything was taken care
I was told all I needed to do is pay the $800 that she had taken care of everything else and that eBay would drop the motorcycle off to my address and I had 5 days to test the bike out to make it online if I wanted to keep it and she pay with pay all expenses to have it returned if I decided and I did not want it which is not necessary because I already know that I want the bite now I'm being told by eBay that I need an inspection invoice which I do not know where to get it how much it cost can you enlighten me

·2 years agoYou are being scammed. You really think you are getting a $7500 motorcycle for $800, and DELIVERED to you at that price no less?
If you already bought the gift cards and gave them the numbers off the back of the cards then that money is GONE and you can NEVER get it back.
Also forgot to mention, ebay has NOTHING to do with this and is not involved in ANY way.

3) owner died, son died, daughter died, husband died, dog died , cat died, parakeet died?
4) can't bear the grief of said death, so their practically giving the bike away?
There is no bike, money is gone, 'seller' is long gone.
Sorry this happened to you, but posts just like yours have become a daily occurrence on here.

·2 years ago@towal-458 : You are being scammed. Just stop responding. There is no actual bike for sale, no such thing as an "inspection invoice," and this is not how real sales on eBay are done. Any photos you may have been shown were probably lifted from some other listing elsewhere. (You can confirm that with a Google Image Search.) That supposed 5-day inspection and free shipping back and forth is a standard claim of this scam, which has been going for... oh, decades now. Messages you receive claiming to be from eBay are not.
If you sent $800 in the form of gift cards, that money is most likely gone forever; sorry. Don't send any money for any vehicle until either you or a trusted friend have inspected it in person.

Were you asked to pay the $800 in eBay gift cards, and have you done that? If so, I'm sure sorry for the loss.
If you're being asked to pay again for something, don't do it.
Help out the next guy by reporting the bogus ad on the site where you found it.

It is awful to read about these terrible scams.
But it is neither Facebook nor craigslist that is defaming eBay’s name. It is the largely-anonymous criminal element among us (preying on the inexperience and trusting nature of those who get taken in and ripped off) who are solely to blame.
And it may be noted that this fraudulent activity has very little to do with eBay. It is not eBay’s fault or responsibility to somehow shelter the buying public at large, who are not using eBay’s platform to make the “purchaseâ€. (If they had, they would have been eligible for the buyer protections offered by eBay.)

·2 years agoBuyers are responsible for KNOWING how things work on ebay by reading ebay policy and also the price of things.
Vehicles are NOT cheap ...greed takes over when buyers want something for nothing.
Trusting a stranger to state ebay policy is naive and that falls on the buyer for not doing due diligence.

Besides, they would be able to make the same claim ebay has over the years: "we're just a venue".

This is a set up for a scam. Forget about it. Files a chargeback on your credit card and never trust anything that is too good to be true, because it usually is.

You are not communicating with eBay. You are communicating with a criminal that is sending you fake notices that only "pretend" to be from eBay. There is no bike.

Not if you paid in gift cards. However If you charged those gift cards on your credit/debit card you might be able to do a chargeback. If this is how you paid, I'd give it a shot. I would look into it.

·2 years agoThere is certainly nothing to lose by trying, although it would not surprise me if the card provider says that their purchase guarantees do not include payments made for gift cards.

·2 years agoThere's no possibility that a chargeback would work here. Whomever the gift cards were purchased from provided what was purchased, i.e the cards. They have no control over what the purchaser does with them, nor can they in any way be held accountable for it.
