I am 81 and have been scammed and eBay won't help.
I bought a bed on 9/9/2025. I opened a case and can not send any messages to eBay support system because they say it's not covered. eBay keeps saying the seller received my messages each time I send one to the scammer, but how do I know if they read it? This is ridiculous. I have obviously been scammed and the "seller" knew how to manipulate the system so that it's not covered by eBay guarantee. I would not have bought it if I'd known it wasn't covered. I am 81 years old and took out a loan to buy this bed and eBay won't protect me from being scammed. If I want to sue the seller, how do I get eBay to send me the scammers contact information so I can file a small claims case? I am on a fixed income and this purchase was a big deal for me. I can't afford a Lawyer. How do I get eBay to step in and help more....I've sent over 18 messages to the scammer and haven't heard from him since 9/25/2025. eBay needs to do more. Can anyone here please help me with this? I think it should be covered since it is obviously a scam. Please help me to contact a person at eBay that can help. Please help if you can!

·10 months ago@landtag Regarding the bedroom set you are selling, you have a comment in the listing:
"It is located in an upstairs bedroom and you will have to move it or hire a mover."
Do you honestly want strangers coming into your home like that? Do you live alone or have other people living with you? Even if you don't live alone, it is still not a good idea to have strangers come into your home.
Are you familiar with how "local pickup" works? Do you know about the QR code for pickup? Are you aware that "item not described" claims can still be filed? Have you read the "Offering Local Pickup" article on eBay? Offering local pickup | eBay
In my opinion, you should sell your bedroom set locally for cash. You might have to take a little less money but you won't have eBay fees to pay and you won't have to worry about Not as Described claims or chargebacks.

If you're looking at the listing the estimated delivery dates will continually update to reflect the dates if you made the purchase today. You need to look at your confirmation email; the estimated delivery dates there are what eBay will use to determine when you can open an item not received case. But you won't be able to open a case until the day after the last estimated delivery date shown in your confirmation email. When that date has passed go to the item in your purchase history and click 'I didn't receive it' to open a case. There's no need to talk to eBay or the seller.
If the last estimated delivery date was more than 30 days ago you're past eBay's deadline to open a case. You'll need to pursue a chargeback with your funding source.

Rather confusing.
I am thinking you bought a bed and it was 'pick up' only and and whether you picked up it or not in the time frame...if you did...you only get 30 days for that MBG.

OP10 months agoHi, yes I am selling a bed set also, but I bought this bed to replace it. I was supposed to arrive within 7 business days I think. It was $123 to deliver and they sent me an offer of $350, from the asking price of $500. I wasn't going to buy it, but it was a good offer so I accepted it. The delivery date keeps updating as the days pass.

You had 30 days after last estimated delivery date to open an INR case on this item. If you failed to do that in time then eBay is out of the picture.
You will now need to try and get a refund through your payment source.

OP10 months agoI saw where the return window closed on October 19th, I never received it so I didn't that applied. I contacted eBay on October 22nd. I didn't think the money back guarantee would run out if I never got it.

·10 months agoMay I respectfully suggest that, before you make any further purchases on eBay, you take the time to read the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
It offers very good protection for buyers. The catch is that ALL buyers need to read it, understand it and use it in a timely fashion. As a seller also, you need to be aware of how it works.
BTW, in the original listing for the bed that you bought, you saw an ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE. That date does not change and will be the date considered by eBay if/when a buyer opens an item not received case.

Ebay doesn't know if you got it or not, if you don't open a case before then.

When you look at the listing now it is showing delivery dates for if this item had been purchased today so it will change each day......
