I’m being scammed and I’m unsure if what steps to take.
I Ordered a Yamaha synthesizer from a new seller. After I paying for the item, I was notified that it would be sent out asap. I waited a day and nothing so I sent the seller a message to which they didn’t respond so I sent another one. The seller responded to neither of the messages to date. Skip a head 5 days. I noticed that the shipper sent the item to ups, I was a little confused when I saw that the item weighed 2 pounds (the item I bought is supposed to weigh over 13 pounds) but I paid little attention to this.
About a week after the purchase, the item was out for delivery and I waited patiently to be notified of its delivery. When I got the notification I immediately went out to see, as it said it was left at front door but nothing.
In summary, UPS sent package to wrong address. If you thought that was the only thing wrong, it wasn’t as when I checked the photo attached for proof of delivery, what was delivered was a small paper sized parcel that surely couldn’t hold a 61 key synthesizer.
Now I would like to know what are some possible steps to take. I’ve already sent an appeal to the seller that the item never arrived, and i’m waiting for them to file a claim with ups (only the sender can file a claim) but they still aren’t responding. seeing that I haven’t received the package and the package is also not what was listed, what are the possible outcomes?
(Srry for the length, i’m frustrated)

Trying to get resolution from the seller will get you nowhere. If you file an Item Not Received (INR) dispute through ebay, its automated system which can only check a tracking number for a Delivered scan, will deny your claim. If you try to appeal the finding using the photo, that will not work either.
If you open and read the info written by me, in link provided by eburtonab, you can successfully win the appeal. If you have already appealed eBay's decision and lost then you need to use one of the two social media links the link provided, but you need more info than just a delivery photo to get resolution.

·2 years agoBoth UPS and FedEx now show a photo of the delivery. Anyone else looking up the tracking number, not just the sender and the recipient, can see at the website
1. the delivery photo,
2. the weight and dimensions, if either is wrong,
3. the date the label was created, if it was before the purchase.
And these photos instead of a thousand words will hopefully help thwart some of the fake tracking scams.
But you have to start a request @nichel_7967 before you can ask eBay to help. If you choose ITEM NOT RECEIVED, the case will close without a refund because tracking shows Delivered.
Instead, click RETURN THIS ITEM to start a return request for the MISSING PARTS OR PIECES reason, because your item is missing, upload a screenshot/photo of the delivery photo, and add a comment.
Then if you continue to be ignored, leave a PRIVATE message here for eBay on Facebook, and ask that eBay team to review the delivery photo and the weight, to see that THAT WAS NOT YOUR PACKAGE, to get your refund.

·2 years agoSave your credit card dispute as a last resort. First try to get help from eBay.
Some excellent advice for dealing with false tracking information of various kinds can be found here:

·2 years agoThe seller is a scammer and will not help you. Item not received will not help you since the seller has a tracking number showing something delivered somewhere.
If you ultimately funded your purchase with a credit card, then that is your backstop. eBay might be able to help but not under INR dispute. And definitely report this seller to eBay to get him suspended.
