how to contact ebay for an item that did not get put in my mailbox
i ordered an item and about a hour before the mailman got to my house i got an email telling me my item has been delivered. i'm sitting here watching the mailbox and it did not arrive. so i go to ebay's help and try to report that i never got it and all i get is item has been delivered. i clicked on every clickable item and i just do not see any place that lets me send ebay a message telling them i never got the item.
so how do i let them know it did not make it to me or am i just out of luck on this because tracking said it was delivered?

eBay's Item Not received system is automated, their computers can only look at a tracking number for a Delivered scan, if it sees one it will turn down your claim. Since ebay is neither the sender or recipient they cannot access the shipping label information to check for an address or package info Type/size/weight, due to shipper's privacy policies.
When you file a dispute it will be closed in favor of the seller. In the message you receive telling you that, there should be an appeal button. You have 30 days from losing the dispute to appeal, but in order to win you have to do some leg work. The info below is what you have do do when this happens with any shipping agency. some of which ittybitnot wrote.
You will have to go to your P.O. or a local UPS or FedEx store. You need to bring a copy of your order details page which shows your address and the tracking number with you. If you bought using a phone or tablet, you can bring that to show the clerk the order details. Do not call the USPS and have them send you an email, ebay will not accept them because they can be faked.
You want to ask the clerk to check the label address against yours, and also to check the Package type/size weight info to see if was is appropriate for what you should have received. If the info does not match up, you ask the clerk to write a note on Company stationary saying in general that the shipping label's address was not yours, and if applicable that the package type/size/weight was not right for what you should have received. Do not ask for specific address or package info, they cannot give it out. Have the clerk print their name then sign and date the note.
Once you have the note, you can appeal the dispute ruling, You can write out what happened and what you found out, and add a CLEAR photo or a scan of the note to an Appeal or message. That should be enough to overturn the original finding, and get you a refund.
If for some reason that does not work there is a 3rd option. Come back here if that happens.

·2 years agoI would contact USPS to confirm the GPS delivery location was not yours.
If package was addressed to a different address from your address, secure a signed statement on USPS letterhead with that information, dated, & with telephone number to submit to ebay

·2 years agoThe best method is taking the tracking number to a post office and ask a clerk where did the item get mailed.
Calling on the phone or using the internet will only give you limited information.
A buyer(you) can revise a feedback in only 30 days after posted if the seller ask for it to be done. Key is after 30 days it can't be done.

OP2 years agothe post office told me the address was wrong how is that extorting them if they put the wrong address then it is there fault. i have had that before where the sellers put the wrong shipping label on a package and i got someone else's package. i ordered a 10$ item and got a 100.00$ item so i told the seller, i could have just kept it. so if you send me the wrong item and it was more valuable you would want that back correct. well neg fb will get there attention to the matter. i told them i will change it if and when i get the item and or a refund.

If the parcel had an address that was NOT YOURS, you need to go to the post office and have the Post Master or their agent put that in writing, signed and dated. Then come back here and you will be told how to proceed. You don't have to know where the package was left, only that it was not intended for you.

OP2 years agook thanks i gave them neg feedback and told them to refund or resend, and i will change the feedback. the post office took the tracking number and told me it got delivered to the address on the package. now i'm a bit skeptical on that as if the mailman did put it in the wrong mailbox and just scanned it thinking it was the correct mailbox the customer service is just going to blow smoke up you know where to make me believe the seller sent it to the wrong address. i have got 18,000 items to the correct address based on my address ebay has and when they print the shipping label the correct address goes on it. but try to tell the post office that.

·2 years agoDid you ask your neighbors if they got it? Is it something that could be sent in an envelope? If it was sent with the eBay standard delivery it's marked as delivered when it's scanned by the mail sorters and then arrives at your house a daynor two later. I wouldn't get nervous until you checked with all your neighbors and it still didn't come tomorrow and it is a package and not something in an envelope.

OP2 years agoi watched the mail go by he drives in my driveway and puts the mail in the box. i then watched him go to the other boxes and nothing the usps just sent an email telling me it was delivered at 1pm the mail got to me at 3:30 pm so they out it in a mailbox 2 hours earlier. i will have to call the post office and yell at them i guess and see what happens. maybe if i'm lucky and have been a good boy santa will put it back in the mailbox return to sender or wrong address. it is not a big item but it is what it is. thanks

·2 years agoSorry I meant to say if it was sent by the eBay standard envelope program then it would show delivered a day or two early because it is marked as delivered when it hits the post office and the mail sorter scans it. It is not scanned by a postal worker delivering it. This would be something like a coin or a trading card or a postcard, etc.

·2 years agoAnd you could start with contacting your local USPS. They have a record of where it was delivered and whether or not this was the mailman's error or the seller put the wrong address on the package. They won't tell you where it was delivered, but can give you a letter stating it was not addressed to you.

OP2 years agothanks i just put in for that online at the usps site. they scan the item but i bet they ahve no clue what mailbox it was put in. they think they got the correct address and scanned it delivered and that is it. i guess ebay really can't do much. thanks

·2 years agoeBay doesn't go by your word. They go by what is in the tracking details.
Tracking isn't aleays in real time
Maybe the package was stolen after it was delivered or delivered to a different house.take The tracking number to USPS and ask where it was delivered. if it was not to your address have them put it in writing and appeal.

·2 years agoBut don't appeal INR if it shows delivered, the process is completely automated and you will lose again.
You either have to go through social media to get a real human being to look at your case and overrule the dumb computer, or file a not as described case. You may be asked to return the package you never received but you will get your money back.

OP2 years agoi'm sitting here watching the mail box i got the delivered email an hour before the mailman even got to my driveway. normally after i get a ebay package it take an hour before i get the delivered notice.
