How do you talk with an agent?
Summary: garymtripp expressed frustration with trying to contact an agent from a marketplace after receiving an empty package instead of the silver dollars they ordered. shire123 advised filing a 'not as described' case instead of a 'not received' one. emeralitelamps suggested a way to get a callback by typing a phone number repeatedly into the chat system. kensgiftshop recommended using the Money Back Guarantee policy by filing an 'item not as described' claim and returning the empty envelope.
I bought 3 silver dollars over a week ago. The package was delivered, BUT it was empty. It could be seen that the corner of the plastic baggie it was shipped in was pried open. I Tried contacting eBay, but I can't get past the stupid automated system...it just keeps saying : Get the help you need from our automated assistant, or contact an agent. I need to talk with an agent. The first thing the automated system asks is what was the problem. I say, it was the coins, and it comes back. They were delivered. NO, they were not delivered. It says return the items. I can't. It is an empty envelope. I did get an email once from eBay and they said to wait until 24 Sep....which was 2 days ago. Nothing has happened and I am so frustrated with their automated system just bouncing me from one statement to another. How can I talk with an actual human being?

·2 weeks agoAct quickly, with silver coins you only have 3 days to file INAD to comply with eBay MBG, it is not the typical 30 day period

·2 weeks agoThere's no need to talk to anyone, use the MBG.
You file an INAD and return what you received, the empty envelope.

·2 weeks agoNo need to talk to an agent. File a "not as described" case. Do NOT file a not received case.

·2 weeks agoIf you ever do want to speak with an actual agent, go into the chat box in the automated system that you went to and type in "please call me at XXX-XXX-XXX" they will respond that someone will call you back in a few minutes....which is very reliable, they do call back. Sometimes, you have to repeat "please call me at XXX-XXX-XXXX" a couple of times.....just keep typing it, and after a few retypes of that, they will say, OK, someone will call you back.
