How do you talk to someone at Ebay?
I recently made a purchase, and when UPS said it was delivered, it most certainly was not. The seller has been completely non responsive, so no help there. I reported the item as having not arrived, but the seller says it's been delivered. I contacted UPS, and the address on the package isn't mine. It has indeed been delivered, to some other place across town. I have submitted information through the dispute process, it says response in 48 hours... it's over 50 now. Trying to get through the AI chat bot, it says case closed and final because item is delivered, which is true, but it wasn't delivered to me. When asking chat bot to get me to an agent, it just send me to email, which also doesn't apparently get responsed to as I sent something via email 3 days ago. I've been purchasing things on ebay for years, and never had a situation like this. It feels futile and helpless. I cannot get anyone to assist me with my situation at all.

OP8 months agoThanks again all. Dispute has been opened. Fortunately it was a fairly small order, so not too much exposure here regardless of outcome. Its less about the cost, and more about the point that it's fraudulent. Unfortunate that ebay doesn't handle this better honestly, but it is what it is. Really appreciate the community and the advice!

·8 months agoIt's there, but eBay doesn't have any method to combat the False Tracking scam, which is a relatively recent type.
Credit card companies, as stated above, look at the cardholder's address and compare it to the tracked address. Including the street and even apartment number, which eBay does not seem to be able to do.
As usual, the scam is not just through eBay but through any mail order venue, online or even a paper catalogue.

eBay protection is actually quite good for buyers ... but the False tracking number scam seems to have stumped the bots and eBay's CS. Until eBay finds a way to deal with this scam easily ... I recommend that buyers bypass eBay completely and go through the Fraud Department of their CC company.
Motto: ALWAYS pay with a credit card ... with or without PayPal ... for all eBay purchases.

eBay is NOT equipped to deal with this very common problem effectively ... so you need to deal with to someone who can. Hopefully, you paid with a credit card. If so, do the following:
That should be all you need to do to get refunded. I've dealt with this scam several different times ... different selling venues; different shipping companies ... and I've been getting refunded easily once I knew WHO to contact with the problem.

·5 months agoI purchased an item from e day and it does not work. It is defected and I need for y'all to send me another one I bought it from Mercedes Ben 08E350, the control sensor restart my car into stock sets right off. And then it don't start at all

·8 months agoYou can go online if you have banking online with the debit or credit card you used and do a dispute.
Simple and easy.

·8 months agoOpen a dispute with your credit card issuer. Make it clear that the delivery was not to you. If there is a delivered scan to any address Ebay will not do anything.
Your credit card issuer will require proof of delivery to your address from Ebay and the seller.

·8 months agoLets save you time. If the tracking states delivered then the seller and Ebay are out of it. If UPS won't do anything then you need to contact your payment source.
To contact Ebay go through Chatbox then type in your issue and then type in "agent" "agent please" Eventually you will be able to click "Have us call you" which then Ebay calls you back. However they won't help you in this case cause the tracking states delivered.
