How do I OPT OUT of seller offers just because I looked at their listing? WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE???
DO NOT REPLY IF TOU DON'T KNOW!
Ebay removed the preference to disable seller offers. Previous replies to this question telling people
to go to "communication preferences" are NOT VALID. 😡

·9 months agoNot only am I getting offers, I am getting notifications to come back and look at the items I looked at yesterday when there is no offer.
Fortunately, I am good at ignoring useless carp.

·9 months agoYou can't. When I want to check market prices before listing my stuff I open a new browser. You don't need to sign it to see what is out there. I use Google and Brave for my two accounts and whatever IE is now called for browsing. Problem solved.
The other day I messaged a seller about some errors in his listings. Not only does he not correct them, but I get an offer from them on two of the items...

You cannot opt out of the "special offer from sellers". You receive those offers when you click on the photos of the Sponsored items you see an a listing's page. Seller's pay a fee for that increased search visibility, so ebay is not going to offer a way to shut down receipt of the messages.
So, not clicking on Sponsored / Promoted listings is the only way to stop receiving the offers.
FYI. I hope you realize that you posted your concern on ebay's U.S. based site's community (ebay.com). Not that it make any difference in the Sponsored listing policy, unless you wonder why you cannot get back to your purchase history or only see prices shown in U.S. $ You will have to login to your home site www.ebay.co.uk

·9 months agoHi @23skd32
We cannot opt out of receiving offers for items we’ve viewed. We never were able to opt out. eBay didn’t remove the preference as far as I know.
[Offers for items we put on our Watchlist can be disabled from Communication Preferences.]
I receive unwanted offers for items I’ve viewed only to answer questions. Sellers pay extra for the right to send them. I don’t like them either.
We’re stuck with them
