How do I extend the auto-payment time on my payment method?
I am a bit confused? I wanted to bid on several items in one store and I had to enter payment method which I did but it only allows 1 hour from when I win the auction then auto payment goes through, I called eBay and spoke with 2 different agent and asked how do I extend the time so it would allow me to bid on other items and seller would have enough time to revise invoice and combined shipping cost, I was placed on hold and then transferred, the first person could not help me the second people kept repeating what I wanted to do but was not able to help me , then I was disconnected. I spend over 30 minutes to try to get answers on how to extend my payment method, I did look at a link but it shows a cell phone I do not use the cell phone I use a computer and I wanted to try to edit the payment method to extend it to 3-4 days but it will not allow me do to so? Does anyone know? Or do I need to wait until I win an auction and then system will allow me to extend my time then? Why would eBay only give me 1 hour? I have buyers that have autopay for 5-7 days! Can anyone help me with this, thank you for your time

Buyers cannot control the time they get to pay for multiple auction wins. If a buyer is required to put up a payment source in order to proceed to bid (or make an offer), it is eBay that is deciding the time frame before auto-pay kicks in and the multiple auction wins start being auto-billed. (Accepted offers are instant, as in no time such as an hour or 7 days will be shown to a buyer. )
You are requiring the same thing from your buyers. It limits the payment choices buyers can use, as well as interferes with invoicing and combined shipping. When this first started rolling out, all auction wins were billed to the buyer immediately upon the listing ending (or an offer being accepted). That ment if a buyer bid on 10 auctions for postage stamps at $2.50 shipping each, they would have ten different charges and would end up paying $25.00 in shipping alone for those ten stamps.
Needless to say, the procedure became very unpopular real fast when buyers discovered what this money grab scenario actually entailed. It was certainly not the "New improved smoother convenient checkout" eBay pitched to buyers. Though intended to cut down on non-paying buyers, this plan did more to discourage PAYING buyers. So eBay decided to grant another hour so a buyer could pay voluntarily and use a payment source of their choice. It didn't do much for combined shipping, but eBay makes more money when it is not allowed.
If a seller wants to be in control of the time a buyer has to pay for multiple auctions or offers once again, they can turn the combined shipping killers off, and either proceed manually agreed upon time or use the auto-assistant.
Sellers that do not wish to sell multiple items to the same buyer or combine shipping think this 'auto-pay' business is just wonderful. They get paid faster, though likely less since many buyers will not participate. It costs sellers more as well. Using the above postage stamp example. a seller would be charged TEN non-refundable forty cent transaction fees ($4) instead of one $0.40 fee for a combined order of ten listings.
So, in summary, a buyer faced with having to put up a payment source first has no options to control the process. It is the seller that can turn it off, though many still don't know they are set to a default on their page, or where the page is located. All new sellers get the defaults, and are not told. Yesterday, a couple of posters said the page to change these is not available on the app.

I meant to add this to my earlier reply but forgot to: You wrote:

There is no direct line phone number for ebay cusomer service. The ones you find online do not connect you to ebay, and may be Phishing for your ebay info. To reach ebay's C.S. you have to scroll to the bottom of an ebay page and look for the Help & Contact button. You need to fill in some info then request a call back from an ebay rep. Unfortunately, they may not be much help either since they work for a contracted 3rd party call/chat center and can only give answers to questions about issues covered in the play book ebay gives them, which doesn't cover every issue that pops up. Sometimes those reps try to guess when responding and give bad info.
Your best bet for getting the correct info you need, is to post about your issue on these boards. Many of us here while not ebay employees are buyers and sellers with years of experience dealing with ebay policies. I suggest that you look in the right hand column and click on Create effective posts to get an idea of what we need to know in order to give you the best available answers.
