How do I disable currency conversion in search results?
Summary: mrsirpantsalot expressed frustration about eBay displaying prices in pesos instead of US dollars when browsing the US site. eburtonlab suggested checking the "Convert prices to USD" option in the "Customize" settings on the eBay search page. After realizing the customization option only appears on search results, mrsirpantsalot managed to correct the currency display issue and shared a suggestion to improve eBay's settings placement. Discussion participants also clarified misunderstandings about the term "Freedom Units" and differences between eBay's country sites.
I have a US address and I will buying from US sellers, in US dollars. I'm getting search results with the price in a different currency. If I go to UK site its POUNDS but the US site is in PESOS?? PLEASE HELP

OP3 weeks agoThank you everyone for your comments and help!
This is what fixed it for me, no more tamper monkey script..!
"CUSTOMIZE" doesn't appear on the front screen!!! You need to search for something first. Then once on the search page you will have the "Customize" button in the upper right. That setting fixed my issues with Mexican prices on the frontpage. You have to search, then customize the search, then when you go back to the homepage prices are in DOLLARS! For some reason I have an option to convert all prices to PESOS in my "customize panel".... haha Now hopefully this helps someone else or maybe Ebay will finally get a hint and move this into that boring white we call the settings panel https://accountsettings.ebay.com/ua

That would be because you are on (ebay.co.uk ) not the U.S. site. Getting prices in Pesos means you are logged into one of the Spanish speaking countries sites like ebays Spain site ( ebay.es ). by searching only on the U.S. site you can find items for sale by seller's in other countries who will ship items to the U.S. The item price will show up in the Country of origin currency with U.S. dollar price under it. The example below is the price of an item from Canada whose seller ships to the U.S.

Freedom units refer to measurements, not currency.
What it denotes:
Lengths: inches, feet, yards, miles.
Mass/weight: ounces, pounds, tons.
Volume: teaspoons, tablespoons, fluid ounces, cups, pints, quarts, gallons.
Temperature: degrees Fahrenheit.

·3 weeks agoand rather even more unfortunate is the fact this is the only website on the planet with this issue.
what's your source of that information

·3 weeks agoOne eBay setting to look at: when searching with a desktop browser on ebay.com using a keyword, in the upper right corner of the search results where you can choose between list or gallery view icons, click on the "Customize" option, and make sure that "Convert prices to USD" is checked.
Otherwise you may have some setting in your device that converts prices to local currency based on your location.

OP3 weeks agoUnfortunately even the front page of Ebay after 30 seconds or less gets converted into Pesos... and rather even more unfortunate is the fact this is the only website on the planet with this issue.
And even more perhaps unfortunate is when i select the UK i get pounds. So only the US one wants to auto convert to Peso? Hmmm ggggrreeeeeaaat.
So... is there not a way to set my prices in Freedom Units? I see this is a popular question here.. But you know how you can set your language to English; looking for that but for money. When i open a products page it will show Dollars but I really hate the unneeded mental gymnastics. on all the other pages for a currency i dont use.

·3 weeks ago · EditedDid you check your "customize" settings on ebay.com? What does that show? Is the proper option checked?

OP3 weeks agoSo "CUSTOMIZE" doesn't appear on the front screen?? Just when you search for something... #FACEPALM... That's why i couldnt find it, i was checking "ebay settings" and the "front page". Never thought I needed to go to the "search page" to fix the "homepage.."
Maybe in the future as a suggestion ebay could that moved to the Actual "Settings Page" https://accountsettings.ebay.com/ here or somewhere else than the - "Customize button, on the search page".
