Your ONLY hope for a refund is if you paid with a credit card. Then you should contact the Fraud Department of your credit card company, where you can explain that the seller is reneging on one of the conditions of the sale: the 12-month warranty. I think that should be sufficient for getting refunded.
Please let us know what happens. Good luck!

·1 year agoUnless you have paid money specifically for a warranty through ebay, separately from the item's cost, in the transaction - resulting in contact by a third party that you purchased the warranty from, your warranty consists of the 30 day eligibility of a money back guarantee from ebay only. Warranties only exist upon products directly purchased from the business or merchant. ebay, as a third party marketplace, invalidates all standard warranties under law & replacing it with their marketplace return policies, unless otherwise purchased & documented.
The purchase should be recent enough to pull it up & look for the language you reference. Print it out & contact your payment processor & see if this is still within any period to process a dispute in regards to merchandise with a warranty & seek resolution. Otherwise, you are likely beyond assistance.

·1 year agoThere is no warranty on most items sold here. For some you can purchase one, not that they are so good. If it's the seller that offered it, you would have to deal with them. eBay only covers you for 30 days from delivery.
If you paid by credit card, contact your card company. You can try contacting the company that made the item. However, unless purchased from a factory dealer, the item is considered used/ second hand sale and is often not covered.

·1 year agoIf you paid with a credit card have very well written warranty information from when you purchased the item you may be able to get your credit card to get the money back.
Did you save a copy of the Listing where it stated a warranty and a copy of the Order Details?

eBay's policy on a seller's warranty or service contract is in part:
Items valued over $15 that include a warranty or service contract must contain additional details in their listing description. You need to include one of the following:
Policy link: https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-policies/warranty-policy?id=4245
Chinese Manufacturer's product warranties if there is one, generally state;
The item must be returned by the buyer with tracking to (Address here)
Once received the item will be inspected for manufacturer's defect.
If one is found a replacement item will be shipped with tracking.
No manufacturer's defect is ever found, so now the buyer is out the original product & shipping cost, the return cost, and if they want the item back, they have to pay for that as well.
Many chinese product's ebay listings do not list the Mfr. only their made up brand name and sometimes not even that. MPN: N/A Brand: Unknown
On eBay, if a store's or Mfr's. warranty is mentioned in a listing, but there is no warranty card or contract in the package. A buyer should file an item not as described dispute for missing parts or pieces, or Does not match photos or description.
The seller will then have to send a return shipping label (if the item location is in the U.S.) or issue a refund if they do not want to pay the return cost.
If the item location is in a foreign country the seller will not be able to purchase a return label. The buyer may have to get a shipping quote for the return cost with tracking, and send it to the seller, who will then have to send the buyer the funds to purchase a return shipping label. The buyer should respond to the dispute giving the tracking number.
To expand on what the previous replies said about Unauthorized Dealers.
Many New In Box items are purchased from Authorized dealers as; Overstock, Discontinued or Store Liquidation items. The original Mfr's warranty is no longer honored for those items.
You can usually check a Mfr's. site with the item's model number, to see if an item has been discontinued or superseded.

A warranty would be through the manufacture, not the seller.
There should have been warranty information along with the item.
Unless the seller was an authorized dealer for the manufacture, most manufactures won't stand behind their warranties.
If it was from China, their warranties are worthless.

·1 year agoI regret to tell you that unless the seller is an authorized reseller of your item, the 'warranty' is generally worth as much as the electrons used to display said warranty. A good rule of thumb is assume that any offered warranty is fairly useless, and unless your item breaks within the complaint period offered by ebay, Paypal, or your credit card, you will likely be out of luck.
