I recently had a troubling experience with a seller on eBay who ripped me off. The item I received was not as described, and now I'm unsure how to proceed. The advice I received suggested reporting the seller, opening a return request, and contacting eBay support. However, I'm looking for personal experiences on how you successfully resolved similar issues. What steps worked for you, and what should I be aware of when dealing with eBay's processes? All tips and insights are appreciated!

OP1 week agoThe seller told me to close my return and then he would send me a replacement and once I closed it, I can’t get back in so they tricked me

·1 week agoYou gave up your recourse through Ebay when you closed the return request/
Your next step should be opening a payment dispute with your payment source (credit card issuing bank).

·1 week agoOK, that was not good. All you can do at this point is go to your payment source in hopes of filing a charge back.
Ebay used to say, and maybe still does, to go work problems out with the seller first, but I say, forget all that...eBay is automated, if you have an issue file for a return., no communication wit ha person is ever needed.
Replacements are never the way to go...there is no tracking or eBay knowledge that a replacement would ever be sent, and often times the delay in getting the replacement sent carries the original transaction past the 30 day ebay MBG period.

·1 week agoFirst off, you didn't even explain your situation, so how would any of us know if we had a "similar issue"?
But returns are very easy on eBay, no need to ever contact anyone, just file the proper case for the return...it is all automated.

You're totally overcomplicating things. All you need to do is open an Item Not as Described return through your purchase history. EBay will give the seller three business days to provide a return label. If they don't, go back to case on day four and ask eBay to step in. The case reports the seller and there's absolutely no need to contact support.
I strongly suggest you familiarize yourself with the Money Back Guarantee:

·1 week agoGo open a return request as the item arrived not as described, then follow the instructions.
As for reporting the seller or contacting eBay support - Go open a return request as the item arrived not as described, then follow the instructions.

OP1 week agoI had a seller told me if I canceled my return. It would make them easier for them to send out replacement and I could throw my broken shipment away and now they’re avoiding my calls and ignoring me please help.

·1 week agoDo not cancel the return - follow the instructions - if the seller does not send you a return shipping label, escalate the complaint.
Once closed, you can't reopen the complaint - so do not do that.
Get a refund, then find another seller.
