Did you find the listing on Marketplace, craig's list, or some other site? If you did and the seller claimed the purchase would be protected by ebay. It was a scam. If you found the item on ebay, and they had pulled the item or seller, there would be a message in your My ebay messages saying that.

By any chance did you buy the item as a guest before you registered? If you did you may not be able to find the listing because it is over 90 days old. You would have had to go to the confirmation email you received, to open an item not received (INR) dispute, within 30 days of the last estimated delivery date.
