having issues with China delivery service UNIUNI
Summary: martys_used_stuff described a frustrating experience with a delivery service called UNIUNI, which was used by sellers in China. They faced issues with incorrect zip codes and difficulty in communication, eventually finding their package left at a random location. dbmm-media suggested avoiding purchases from China, which martys_used_stuff agreed with. mudshark61369 provided detailed advice on identifying sellers that might use such shipping services, explaining the use of private listings and other indicators of Chinese sellers. martys_used_stuff expressed frustration at the shipping services used by sellers, particularly noting the transition from reliable USPS deliveries to problematic ones with UNIUNI and others.
I bought item's from over China, I had no issues until they decided to open up shipping called UNIUNI here in the US before they were using the united states post office with no problems. I live in town homes in Dallas Texas area and there is a gate here, on the eBay address i put the gate code on it so there is no issues "well I was wrong" . The first time eBay decided to omit my gate code and I almost did not get my purchase. So I went back and added it again with the help of Google advice. So now it happened again this time eBay did not omit the gate code. When I went to check status the item was not delivered because according to this UNIUNI the business was closed ?!? To top it off they had the wrong zip code ? The seller was no help at all kept telling me to check the status with a couple of phone numbers that are simply recordings to visit there UNIUNI site. So I visited UNIUNI and they claim the tracking number was wrong until I provided them there own web page picture and all of a sudden it was the right number. So there AI bot is a joke with no accountability what so ever so I decided to do some research on this UNIUNI business address they provided to or from Google is an empty warehouse 14 miles from me and has been vacant for some time. So getting back to the delivery driver, I got no calls and there is no way (according to UNIUNI they can't be reached) this was not a cheap purchase about 60 bucks, so I fail to see the lack of empathy from sellers they got you money so your screwed "they simply don't care until they get an unfavorable rating" then they might care? "This is pathetic" I handwrote a sign and attach it to the keypad outside my townhome on the keypad to hopefully appeal to the driver to at least call me, so I can give them the gate code although its clearly on the address label provided by eBay so...... no real excuses here

OP1 month agoguess I got lucy third time is a charm, at my front gate on a rock I found my uniuni package, no one called me from the note I posted on the keypad I guess the drivers they hire cannot use a phone or just lazy, thankfully no one ran over the package or stole it, and it was no where near my home about 150ft i guess. I believe in the power of prayer !!

In looking at your feedback profile I see that you have purchased from three sellers in the last 6 months, whose feedback they have left were followed by (Private listing) and whose usernames are hidden, only showing ( Seller: ***** ) Those things are indications of them being China based sellers.
The only real reasons for listing items as (Private listing) are usually to hide the disclosure of personal hygiene, medical or adult items. There is no legitimate reason to mark common items as private listings unless the seller wants to hide issues with their products.
Them using Uni Uni is to mask international shipping origins. They use independent contractors similar to Amazon Flex for final mile deliveries. UniUni is mostly used by sellers on platforms like Temu, Shein, AliExpress ... which are China based sites.
Because China has warehouses in the U.S. and some Chinese sellers are registered as being in the U.S. it can be hard to weed them out. Below is a list of things I use to weed out foreign sellers. If you search using Price: Lowest or Best Match you are very likely to see items from China based sellers first. I search using Time: ending soonest or Newly listed.
On Listing pages:
Items priced below brand named prices.
An item location address that does not give a city and state Ex: USA / United States, New Jersey / USA
The use of U.S. flag symbols and several mentions of being a U.S. seller.
Seller's username sometimes.
Selling items listed by many other sellers, often using the same stock photos.
High volume seller with a feedback percentage below 98.6%
Item descriptions that have wording in them that doesn't seem like it was written by a person whose first language is English.
Item titles giving a brand name, and photos showing a brand name label, but in the Item Specifics it says Brand: Unknown or no brand given.
Items for sale with no name or an unrecognizable Brand Name.
The use of metric and standard measurements.
Photos with Asian models in them.
On a Feedback profile page:
The seller's country of registry, sometimes.
High volume seller registered between 2012 and now.
All or most feedback is for Private listings.
Hundreds of neutral and negative feedback. Some may still have a percentage over 99%
Neutral and Negative feedback saying items came from China. That took a long time to arrive. Missing items from multiple quantity orders. Cancelled purchases. Poor communications. Clothing smaller in size than normal. Many mentions of poor quality items. (click on the numbers of neutral and negative feedback received, to read only those comments).
Responses to negative feedback written by someone whose first language does not appear to be English often starting with the word "Dear"
It may take a little time to use the above lists, but after a while it becomes second nature, and in the long run can save time and possibly money.
Since I created the lists, getting to a sellers feedback profile page has become harder than just clicking on their feedback number. Now you have to:
Scroll down a listing page until you see the seller's username in a large font. Under it will be a few comments, and under that a See All Feedback button. Click on it. On the page that opens you will see the following line above some comments.
Click on the switch back to classic view. On that page is the seller's country of registry, and a box with the number's of neutral and negative feedback a seller has received, which can be clicked on to read only those comments.

OP1 month agothanks for the info, wow I don't have anything to hide, if your referring to bedroom Boudoir stuff? Those days are long gone LOL. Most of the stuff I buy is parts for repairs I have in my shop, mostly older electronics etc. it shows all the sellers and everything on my end. The seller that I am currently having issues with apparently sells sex stuff too. I only purchased a radio from them who knew? I only buy from China when all avenues fail like Amazon, Etsy etc.. I enjoy repairing old electrical stuff in my retirement years. I don't have real issues from China sellers its there shipping that dose them in and I fear will ultimately do them in .. and cause them to fail. One thing I have found in the 25 years with eBay is China sellers are not the problem its the shipping outfits. They used to ship via united state postal service and that was fine. somehow they changed and we are left with these horrible shippers Orange, Uniuni, and ultimately will be there downfall at least in my opinion the U.S. market.

< bedroom Boudoir stuff? Those days are long gone LOL >
They might be long gone for you, and we'll all get there sooner or later, with our individual levels of severity, but it's primarily the buyers of those products who don't want revelations on their feedback pages. So the seller makes his feedback private to reassure possible buyers that their sensitive proclivities will not be put on display for the world.

OP1 month agoNo worries I get it .... I was reacting to another comment early in this thread. He was helping me identify fraudulent although sneaky China sellers trying to lie and say they are us company's and they are not.
