Guantees are they worth while
I purched a refurbished radio 9 months ago it has now got a problem. The seller offers a 12 month guantee but will not respont to my messages. Ebay said i have to contact my bank, but they can only respond on sails of over £100. what can you do if the seller will not respond?

·1 year agoSeller is only obligated to accept returns/refund for 30 days on eBay, after that you are on your own.

OP1 year agoThank you for your interest in my Problem. We really have to let others know that any guantee other than 30 days on Ebay can not be taken as a truthful comment. I have already ordered a replacement at an other site.

·1 year agoGuarantees are only as good as the guarantor.
Most guarantees on New products are from the manufacturer (not the retailer), and most manufacturers will not honour guarantees except when the purchase was made through one of their recognized dealers.
Because of the papertrail.
The item may have been purchased from a liquidator, be a return, have fallen off a truck, or just be an unwanted gift.
The manufacturer has no way of knowing.
EBay offers a Money Back Guarantee for 30 days from delivery.
The seller can demand that the item be returned before refunding.
The seller will usually (but not always) be required to pay for return shipping.
Note that this is a MONEY Back Guarantee, not a replacement.
Paypal if you use it to anonymize your online purchases, offers a 120 day money back guarantee from date of purchase, but the buyer usually has to pay for the return if the seller demands it.
And of course, your credit card offers up to 180 days for a chargeback from the purchase date. Card policies differ.
If you used a debit card or a gift card, you will never see a refund.

This is no longer true. Last May Paypal changed their return deadlines to 30 days from payment date. So their policy now conforms to eBay's.

·1 year agoThat's a big drop in what? Less than a year? From 180 days to 120 days to 30 days?
The techbros have decided customer needs are no longer their concern.

·1 year agoThere is no warranty on most items sold on eBay. eBay covers you for 30 days from delivery. Any warranty a seller offers, has to be taken up with the seller. Short of going to court, no way to enforce it.

·1 year ago@4petedaniel nothing much you can do. The seller is only obligated for 30 days on eBay no matter what they said in the listing.
Most credit card issuers here in the states don't go past 6 months aside from perhaps, Amex.
