The redemption code is embedded in that string of letters and numbers- all but the last 4 digits. Scammers say send me a picture front and back of the card and scratch off only the last four digits as proof you bought the card. Then, bingo! They can figure out the whole redemption code without you scratching off the rest of the numbers.

·3 years agoAny time you reveal any gift card codes to anyone you run the risk of revealing much more than you intend.
The only reason for anyone to ask for any gift card numbers is to be able to spend the money on the card. There is no other reason.
Anyone asking you about gift card numbers should be considered a scammer.
There is literally no reason to ever discuss any gift card numbers with a stranger, ever.
