Getting only half the order.
Hello All,
I ordered 2 units of a product. Received 1 a few days ago. I thought that I would get notice soon that the 2nd unit is slightly delayed, but will ship soon. I've gotten no notice of anything concerning the 2nd unit.
I contacted the seller a couple days ago, but haven't gotten any response. I included images of the original order, that in fact it clearly shows there were 2 units ordered and paid for. I sent a follow-up message asking if they received my first since I had no confirmation that they did, and if they could, please let me know that it was received. That was early this morning ( it's 2:03am now ) but so far nothing.
I've never had this happen, and I certainly don't want to negatively impact a seller's standing by unecessarly acting too soon. I want to be fair, but I haven't received anything from the company/seller.
Asking: what does the community think is a reasonable amount of time for the company/seller to respond?
Thank u all in advance for any guidance/suggestions.
My best to all,
danny

·1 year agoYou must open an item not described or a missing parts or items case. You will lose an item not received case since an item was delivered.

OP1 year agoThat's just what it looks like too. Much thx.

I forgot to ask if both items were selected from a multiple quantity available listing or two separate ones? If you bought them from one listing with X number available. It should show up in your history as one transaction with one tracking number. So there should not be a delay for the 2nd one.
If you bought from two separate listings, and the seller does combine shipping that too should have the same tracking number for both items.
If the items are large/heavy so combined shipping wasn't an option. Each item should have a different tracking number.
If there is only one tracking number for both items open a return for, Not as described, Missing parts or pieces. If the box you received could only hold one item take a photo of it and the item as proof a second one could not have been shipped in it.

·1 year agoHave you been on these boards very long @mudshark61369 and you forgot to read the first sentence in the OP? Also wondering have you been on eBay before, and do you know how eBay works?
Because @dankeoe eBay has this brand-new feature which has been around for years, to say "Quantity not received" to get a refund for the missing quantity.
Just start an ITEM NOT RECEIVED refund request, and you don't return the missing quantity for your refund.

ITEM NOT RECEIVED will backfire because the AI that checks these things will automatically throw out the case because something was received.

OP1 year agoDid not kno that!!!
Can't thank u enough. I'm going to call ebay Monday just to make sure that all my T's crossed and I's dotted.

·1 year agoWow there's a way to inform a member that you disagree or to teach them about a new feature they may not be aware of yet and a way NOT to do it..
Guess which one yours was?
Kindly sharing with @mudshark61369 a feature with which they may not be aware is probably the better way to go here..
I have learned so much from him.. So much.. He is a valued member on these boards. Always helpful, thoughtful and never rude, NEVER.

OP1 year agoLooks like that's the path it's going. Many thx.

OP1 year agoThx 4 getting back.
If what u mean by a single, or same listing...yes it was. in the menu of quantity i put it at 2. The ebay receipt shows "quantity X2" It does show up as one transaction and one tracking #.
I'll call ebay Monday, because there is a contradiction in the receipts that even they show. Not sure I can explain without going on just too much.
Much thx for the info because i'm sure I'll run into things that I'll need this even more that now. Solid stuff.

·1 year agoWhen you state "two units", does that mean two of something that had multiples listed in one listing?
If so, then what you'll want to open is an ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED CASE, not an item not received case.

OP1 year agoItem was individual, I just clicked on the menu "Quantity: 2.
Thx for the time to give me that info, because there have been times i ordered from a listing as u described.

Have you looked at tracking data to see if both items were in fact shipped?
The second may be hung up somewhere in the USPS system.
Just a guess of course.
Some sellers may not reply to a message on a weekend.

OP1 year agoWill do. I will take a closer look at everything.
Many thx for the info.

"I've never had this happen, and I certainly don't want to negatively impact a seller's standing by unecessarly acting too soon".
You should not be worried about impacting the seller's standing. They obviously are not concerned that they didn't send the correct number of items you ordered, or they would have responded. Do as previously suggested Use the More actions button, select return item and pick as the reason, missing parts or pieces. If you get a text box, write I ordered two of the item, but only received one.
Doing that will open a dispute and your seller will have 3 business days to respond by either shipping the second one with tracking or issuing a refund for the full price of the second item. If they do neither on day four open the dispute and ask ebay to step in. They will issue a refund from the seller's account.

OP1 year agoYep, ur right, but because I know that there are times unusual things can happen, I give things a little extra time. Much, much thx for the insight.

·1 year agoThat's very kind of you. I'd give it until Monday afternoon their time. To open a case, if it comes down to it: locate the order in your Purchase History, click the 'More actions' button, and choose 'Return this item' from the dropdown menu. Don't select the 'I didn't receive it' option. This stuff is (mostly) all automated systems talking to automated systems and the case will close in the seller's favor because the tracking number shows delivery.
Speaking of which, do you happen to still have the packaging it arrived in? There's a pretty good chance the shipping label has the weight printed on it. May or may not be helpful though. How big is a single unit? Could two have fit inside whatever packaging they used?

·1 year agoIf these two items are part of the same item #, opening an INR case will be an error.
Since buyers have only ONE chance to open a case with eBay, we want to make sure the correct case is opened.

·1 year agoRead it again 😉
That's exactly what I told him, I just didn't call any of it INAD INR etc since that's terminology sellers tend to be familiar with but isn't what a buyer will see on their end.

OP1 year agoEveryone who responded gave me really good info. So if some isn't a fit now...it will down the road 🙂
Thx u and everyone that took the time to get back on this.

OP1 year agoHad no idea that if a mistake was made in choosing to open a concern u may cause more confusion.
A million thx for the info.

OP1 year agoSolid info. A million thx. And yes, I have a habit of keeping all packaging material. I actually keep it until all warranty, etc is over.
