·2 years agoIf you opened a not as described case the seller doesn't get to choose whether you get a return label. Four days after opening the case you'll have the opportunity to ask eBay to step in. Once you do that eBay will send you a return label (and charge the seller for it).

OP2 years agoI have started a claim to get my money back and try to return the damaged game. The seller issued an email stating they sent a shipping label but did not actually send a label. When I sent a message back to them stating there was no label, they stated they would not be sending a label and that I needed to handle the return shipping....even though I got an email stating they issued a return label.
None of this headache is worth a Monopoly Game...None....of....it.
Once this is figured out and I get my money back, I am done with eBay.
I know there are some great dealers on this site, I have bought from a few of them, but there just isn't enough of them to keep dealing with this kind of frustration.
I will go back to trade shows and garage sales where I know exactly what I am getting at exactly the time of purchase.
Thank you to those who understood my complaint on this, sorry to soh.maryl for complaining about it (I guess I should have just stayed quiet) and to everyone, have a nice Hump Day 🌞.

If the seller hasn’t provided a shipping label … then you need to ask eBay to step in on the 4th business day after opening the claim. eBay will take over the case from your unhelpful seller.

·2 years agoPackaging in one of THE most important tasks selling on here and making sure that the machines at the post office and other issues do not destroy your package. We consistently wrap our Priority Mail flat rate boxes with 6 layers of packaging tape. Good thing I get a discount on that stuff because I would go broke just wrapping packages. LOL!!!

·2 years agoThe OP was complaining about packaging . Does not really require "a paragraph or two".
soh.maryl
·2 years agoOK, and this is exactly the reason eBay offers the MBG. Have you opened an item not as described case yet?
tinsoldierunderground
·2 years agoThis may just be venting, as per your post a couple days ago.😉
soh.maryl
·2 years agoWhat post of mine of a couple of days ago? You'll need to be more specific, as I do post a lot here.
I was "venting"?
tinsoldierunderground
·2 years agoWhere you said you were going to make sure the op wanted your help before you post, and they were not just here to vent.
tinsoldierunderground
·2 years agoNo you weren't venting, rather commenting on those who come on here and argue when they don't like the helpful advice they get.

·2 years agoFirst I'm going to say that yes your purchase should have been packaged better.
However when you checked feedback did you look to see how may were left for "as a seller"
Yours makes 9 and 7 of those were over a year ago. Your dealing with a new or very occasional seller.
No they haven't learn how to package things yet.
yuzuha
·2 years agoI really don't see how that's supposed to be an excuse, honestly. Surely they receive packages in the mail and see how stores and other people package things for shipping. Basic common sense says that you put the thing you're shipping in a box.
kathiec
·2 years agoNot necessarily. People now are used to Amazon, where very little anymore comes in a box. And it's always dangerous to assume what anyone else's 'common sense' is.
tinsoldierunderground
·2 years agoWith all due respect, did you check the seller's feedback? It's 90.9 %. That's pretty much in the toilet.
house*of*paws
·2 years ago@tinsoldierunderground
LOL The seller's feedback was 100% when the OP purchased the item. It was the OP's neg that brought the feedback down to 90.9%. 😉
tinsoldierunderground
·2 years agoThanks for pointing that out, I missed it.
albertabrightalberta
·2 years agoIt's the OP's feedback that put the seller at 90%.
I don't think any of us disagree that the seller did a dreadful job packing, wrapping and protecting that "collector's edition" game. Sheesh!
I agree with the others that you should just open a "not as described" return request and return it.
Since the seller does offer free returns, can I assume your reason for trying to work with the seller is to try to get a partial refund instead of a return? Just curious.
madi-6035
OP2 years agoThey do not accept returns
kathiec
·2 years agoIt doesn't matter if they don't accept returns. If the item itself was damaged it falls under eBay's definition of not as described and is covered by the Money Back Guarantee. And the MBG trumps a no returns policy.
femmefan1946
·2 years agoNo returns does NOT mean No Refunds,
You may or may not be asked to return the game.
If you are, the seller sends you a Return Shipping Label.
But return or no, you will be refunded.
No Returns is a sign of a poor seller in my opinion. One who has not read the Money Back Guarantee, and does not understand the difference between "return" and "refund", which are not even spelled the same.

·2 years agoHi @madi-6035
I’m very sorry your seller didn’t know how to ship a package. [eBay doesn’t ship anything itself.]
If the game inside was harmed … then file a ‘return request’ from your Purchase History. Choose ‘Doesn’t match description or photos’ as the reason for the return.
Ask eBay to step in after 3 business days if the seller hasn’t sent you a prepaid shipping label or full refund by then. Good luck!

Boy that stinks, shabby packaging for sure. Q: is your game destroyed? You also have the opportunity to include photos in your feedback.

·2 years ago@madi-6035,
"I reviewed the post, there was no info that my purchase was going to be wrapped in Christmas paper and nothing else... This shipping method is not ok.
Buyers should feel that they are going to get the product in the shape advertised. Not destroyed in the mail because the seller chose not to send the package properly.".
How often do you see anywhere on a listing that a seller describes the packaging they use to ship items in? If the item or its box were damaged because of the seller's packaging, you could have filed an item not as described dispute and gotten a full or possibly partial refund. You still can if you want. I had to contact a seller the other day and found that the new "pictures" feature was working, so I think you could have added one to the feedback.
With millions of sellers on this site, you are bound to run into those who do not do a good job of packing items. Fortunately, only a very few of the over 5K items I have purchased on this site were shipped poorly packed and were damaged.
"when I brought this to the sellers attention, they blocked me! I had to go thru the seller contact button thru another of the sellers products to get a reply".
If you had been blocked, you would have seen a message saying something like "This seller is not accepting messages from you", when you hit the send button. Even if they had tried to block you, it wouldn't work for at least 30 days, or until your money back guarantee protections had lapsed. They may just have chosen to ignore your message.

·2 years agoInstead of concentrating on posting further pictures, you need to move forward with opening an item not as described case. Do you know how to do that? If not, please read eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers. And you are free to return here if you have further concerns.
madi-6035
OP2 years agoI have more pics I will add in a bit but this is just unacceptable. For $10 I got a game wrapped in Christmas paper, with no padding, with tape on the actual product, rips all over and when I brought this to the sellers attention, they blocked me!
I had to go thru the seller contact button thru another of the sellers products to get a reply. Which was that I agreed to the shipping method when I made the purchase.
I reviewed the post, there was no info that my purchase was going to be wrapped in Christmas paper and nothing else.
I constantly read that is inexperienced buyers that are the problem, no, it's not. This shipping method is not ok.
Buyers should feel that they are going to get the product in the shape advertised. Not destroyed in the mail because the seller chose not to send the package properly.
soh.maryl
·2 years agoThe key here is opening an item not as described case. You have 30 days to do that with eBay.
You don't really need to add more pictures. You received an item that's NAD. Just open the case.
soh.maryl
·2 years agoNot sure exactly what that is in the picture, but have you opened an item not as described case with eBay?
