Tried purchasing the Adira press brake machine but had trouble paying via eBay therefor the seller sent me an account number for transfer. Once i made the payment i realized that I didn't receive an invoice nor was the machine removed from eBay. He then sent me his company invoice & not from eBay. When I asked for my money back because he wasn't responding to my requests & he hadn't shipped the machine as promised. Only after requesting my money back said that he had already shipped the machine & the reason why he didn't respond because he had internet problems & he was waiting for a limit switch that he had ordered for the machine. Needless to say, when we finally received the machine, we could see the damaged limit switch & he hadn't put on any new parts let alone a limit switch. He sent the machine without the keys after he promised turnkey operation. We paid him the full price listed on eBay & not a penny less therefore he made more money by not paying you the service fees.

File a claim with them.

·2 months agoMaybe your payment source can help you recover your funds.....as others have stated, ebay won't be able to help in this particular situation.

·2 months agoEbay can't do anything about this guy because the transaction didn't occur on their site. There's a reason one of their policy rules is "don't complete any transactions off of eBay"; they have zero control over that.

·2 months agoEven though your initial information on the product was from an ebay listing, for whatever reason, the selle and you ended up doing the transaction outside of ebay. Therefore, there is NO ebay transaction and ebay has nothing to do with your purchase. You are on your own.

OP2 months agoAt the very least, eBay should deal with him harshly because he technically stole from them as well because he charged us the eBay price without giving eBay their cut!
At least that's my take on it.

There is no way to report the scam to Ebay without implicating yourself.

OP2 months agoI didn't gain or sort to gain any advantage & I have the invoice & banking records to prove that. I paid him the same eBay price tag which he benefited from not me.

He probably knew exactly what he was doing but whether you intended it or not, because you completed the purchase that way, you were just as wrong.

·2 months ago...and you participated in taking the sale outside of eBay and now are left without any MBG or a way to get your money back. That money transfer was a good a paying in cash. Will they at least send you keys and a new wlimit switch?

OP2 months ago · EditedThe guy is just straight evil. I cant understand how he's got a 100% positive review. That was a contributing factor for choosing him plus he has a huge selection of heavy machinery. Immediately I had some apprehensions because he's communication was terrible & I thought it was him just not taking me seriously until I came up with the funds. After I sent him the funds, I had to contact him several times to request an invoice. He reneged on everything including my cardinal request that the machine must be turnkey operational. We received the machine without the keys and the foot controls. I called, emailed & texted him without success until he replied in text, saying that he mailed the key /pedal closing the text with our business is now concluded! After collecting the package, we find out that it wasn't the correct keys they were cut totally different & he cut the stem/handle from the foot control pedal to reduce shipping cost. He didn't even bother sending the handle within the box where we could've at least welded it back together. I really don't understand why he never treated me like a potential repeat customer.
The brief conversations we had he came across like a mild-mannered gentleman however I soon found out he is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
I'm really disappointed in myself for choosing to purchase from him because I had another two vendors of whom I had dealt with in the past. I had a brand-new press brake from China in my sights for near 3 years. I ended up buying a machine that doesn't work & the vendor totally ignores me & shoulders no responsibility to the point he blocked me from his eBay purchases etc. that was A way for me to send him messages.
I've complained 3 times to eBay, but it doesn't register with their algorithms I'm guessing because technically I didn't buy the machine. Therefore I can't open a case according to their systems.
I spent a lot of money for essentially 26,000Lbs of trash!

OP2 months agoKind of. Everything is automated so when I launch a complaint there's nothing to tie it to because that listing is no longer there. If I try to explain the situation on one of his other listing the eBay AI would send me an email saying it looked into my report a found nothing to be in violation to the listing. It's almost like they don't have a category for my individual grievance.
