Fraudulent Seller - Buyer Beware
I purchased an item that was supposedly an embroidered dragon robe but what I received was a cheap print knock-off of what was listed. I opened a case to return the item and when I asked for the shipping label, they said they could not provide one because they were overseas. So, they sent the money via PayPal to cover the shipping back cost to China and gave specific instructions. After 4 weeks, they closed the case and informed eBay that I never shipped the item back and my effort to escalate it to eBay was immediately rejected, eBay said they stuck to their decision even though I provided the evidence that the item was returned. My negative feedback was also removed. When I disputed the charge with my credit card company, eBay stated the same, and my evidence was ignored. So, buyer beware, the seller is a fraud, and positive feedback on their store is rigged.

·2 years agoIf the PayPal payment was for "Goods or Services" your seller will likely dispute for a refund.
Please update @quackquackgo if that happens.

OP2 years agoSo, the seller gets to keep the item, money, and no recourse? I think it's time for me to buy somewhere else, esp with Amex is no longer accepted, the only card I trust to use for eBay because it is plagued with fraud.
Who told you American Express isn't an accepted form of payment?
It is listed as a payment form on every listing I have.

·2 years agoIt's accepted now, but eBay has announced that they'll stop accepting it on August 17.
Now that you reminded me, I do recall reading about that somewhere.
thanks.

·2 years agoHi @quackquackgo
BUT … you still can attach your AmEx card to a PayPal account and continue to use it to pay for purchases on eBay through PayPal.
BTW, as long as you returned the item to the address given to you by the seller … you should be able to be refunded EVEN IF the item doesn’t make it to the seller as Delivered.
I would try talking to your CC company again … and ask what evidence you need to provide to prove you followed eBay’s and the seller’s directions for the return of a ‘not as described’ item.
Having your negative feedback removed when the seller wins the eBay claim is automatic … regardless of what was said in the Comment.
Please let us n know how things work out for you in this case. Good luck! 😊

2. Yes
3. It shows the package was in Beijing on 6/10/24
4. Address and store, which led me to believe the eBay store has multiple sellers. However, that's not my problem.

·2 years agoJust showing it was in Beijing isn't enough, it has to show it was delivered.
They are probably dropshipping and the store name helps their dropshipper know which seller the return is for.

·2 years agoDid your feedback refer to a dispute?
Negative feedback is removed when a seller wins a claim.
So there may be 2 reasons why the feedback was removed.

·2 years agoDid you enter the tracking number in to the return case?
Did you use shipping that tracked the item all the way back to the seller?
Does tracking show it was delivered?
What specific instructions did the seller give you?

@quackquackgo
What was the REASON you used for the credit card chargeback? Did you provide the tracking number as "proof of return"?
When you shipped did you post the tracking into the return? How exactly did you provide evidence? The evidence is supposed to be submitted into the return.
If you didn't, that would be why you lost out your refund and the appeal.
