Fraudulent auctions on eBay.
I am never doing business with eBay again. It appears that they have become Fraud Central with their listings on coins that are originated by counterfeiters. I know that they put out new terms of service to absolve themselves from responsibility small print just like all companies do in this world. I am going 100% to Amazon who has a “no problem†return policy and backs up their products when scammers rip off their customers. It appears that eBay does not. I’m disgusted with the entire eBay system.

The MBG is pretty good when used.
Go to your purchase history and click return item and select, the item doesn't match the description as the reason.
The seller will have 3 days to accept the return and pay return shipping or refund without returning.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.

Are you a buyer or a seller or both?
As you correctly note, eBay, like every other corporation on the planet, puts the onus on buyers to do their due diligence (caveat emptor).
If you opt to purchase a Morgan dollar from a seller in China for $11.99, you are knowingly purchasing a fake. The good news is that, as others have noted, you can file an "item not as described" and get your money back.
If you are a seller, you have the option of reporting buyers who you suspect of selling counterfeits, although I am not sure it will do much good, since eBay is in the business of making money.

OP1 year agoThanks for your response. You are, of course, absolutely correct in your observation. I attempted to delete the post a short time after I created it but couldn’t figure out how. I should have known better. To eBay’s credit, I received emails approving refund requests that I had already made in this case. My apologies to eBay. This has been most definitely been a learning experience and a good warning to Seniors like myself who sometimes let their better judgement take a snooze.

·1 year agoIt's unfortunately true you can't delete posts here in the Community (a change that I request every time I get a survey popup). But what you can do is when you receive a very good reply to your post, you can mark it as Best Answer. This is not only an extra way to thank the person but also a signifier that the concern of the post has been well-addressed, therefore is no longer waiting for answers. So then less people will feel the need to read it and all the replies, and you'll get fewer (if any) more replies, so it saves time and effort for everyone. In this case you would go to the reply you got from @fbusoni and click the Best Answer button.

·1 year agoEbay's return policy is just as 'no problem' as Amazon. If you get an item that's not as described you get a return label and a full refund when the return is complete. That's exactly what you get with Amazon. Actually Amazon's return policy when you're dealing with one of their third-party sellers can be very problematic. Have you read eBay's Money Back Guarantee?

·1 year agoYES, shockingly bad. Just one more reason I never buy there anymore.
