Fraudlent Listings for Aardik Collection items
NOTE: This is an example of a site-wide fraudulent listing practice.
The Aardik Collection items site wide are adverstised as "Carved Stone" "Soapstone" or "Black Stone" carvings.
They are all cast resin.
Etsy.com makes listers state this product is "Faux Soapstone" or "Resin Casting".
EBay looks the other way. Caveat Emptor.
I bought 4 of these believing the listings until I discovered the truth.
Is there buyer protection from Ebay for this practice?

I’m very sorry this happened. Sadly, eBay had no way of knowing the composition of the items any more than you did.
That said, you are fully protected under eBay’s Money Back Guarantee for fraudulent or otherwise mischaracterized listings.
Go to your Purchase History and file a return request … choosing ‘item doesn’t match description or photos’ as the reason for the request.
If the seller doesn’t provide a prepaid return shipping label or a full refund within three business days, then go back to your open request and ask eBay to step in. eBay, will do the rest.

"This is an example of a site-wide fraudulent listing practice".
Don't you think that is a bit of an overstatement? There are only 94 of those items listed on ebay currently. I had to do a search to try and find out about the "collection" and there wasn't much information about it. Which leads me to believe this is more of a case of sellers not being familiar with the items, than actual attempts of fraud. As with any niche collectibles the buyer should check a seller's feedback profile to see if they have experience selling those items, and if they do not, questions should be asked.
From what info I could find, the question I would ask is: Does the item have a waxy or soap like feel when touched, and does it feel cool to the touch even at room temperature? That would be a way for a seller to tell if they have a real soapstone item or a resin one.
If a seller has misrepresented what they sold, intentionally or not, you are protected by the Money Back Guarantee (MBG) as has been posted.

·2 years agoSo what this boils down to is that you are a buyer who has received an item that is not as described?
Have you not read eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers?
When a buyer receives an item that's not as described, the buyer has 30 days after receipt to open an item not as described case.
Go to this listing in your Purchase History, and click on "want to return this item". On the drop down menu, click on "not as described". Wait four days for a response from the seller. He will be required to send you a prepaid return label and to refund in full.
If that doesn't happen, return to the case and request eBay step in. You will be refunded in total and will be told to keep the item.
Hopefully, this won't happen again. But, just in case, please read the MBG.
