Question:
Can you leave feedback to a seller that cancels an order?
I won 5 items in a bid auction from a seller located in China and then I asked the seller to adjust the shipping cost. They adjusted the shipping cost and sent me an invoice to pay. I paid, then a week past and suddenly I got a refund. Reason says "issue with shipping address". Yet they never contacted me about it. I've purchased over 1000 items in eBay over the years and have never had any sellers have an issue with my address. I'm guessing the seller didn't get what they wanted for the items (I did win the auctions cheap). But there's no link in the item on my purchase page to leave feedback. This seller had no feedback ratings the day I bought the items.. 2 days later there's a ton of them. Can I still leave negative feedback? (They don't answer when I try contacting them).

·1 year agoI had a buyer in the past year cancel an order and then left a neutral.
I had to ask for it to be removed.
I believe you can leave the feedback but the seller may be able to get it removed.

·1 year agoSounds like a situation of out of stock or unexpected added tariffs applied.....without knowing which was the cause, how would you give appropriate feedback anyway? Personally, I don't even know how ebay handles the tariffs, do we as buyers now see it in listings as extra?
I can see a lot of good sellers who had listings up pre-tariff get caught up in it....just as I can see a lot of bad sellers saying "bad address" to avoid out of stock dings. To me, one warrants possible negative feedback, the other, I'd just move on if I received my money back. After all, if you received your money back then that is a positive thing and showed the system did work easily on cancelled order.
Personally, we don't see enough feedback telling other buyers "returns were easy, refunds came quickly and worked within the system".

OP1 year agoThe items I bought were collector sports cards with limited numbers on them. The ones I bought were clearly pictured with the numbered card you would get (233/800). I won 5 different ones with different limited numbers. They were a new seller with no feedback when I bought them. The total price was only $31 with shipping. They sent me an invoice after adjusting for my address. Then 5 days later they cancelled. I finally got a response from the seller when I asked for an explanation before leaving feedback... They said "so sorry, can't sell you these, I changed mind". I called eBay to just ask .. and they said I can't leave feedback because that account has been frozen while they investigate them. I was just annoyed at the fact the seller actually adjusted for combined shipping then turned around and used an excuse not to ship because they realized I was getting a steal of a deal.

You can leave feedback on the cancelled order.
However, the seller could probably have it removed.

When the seller cancelled the orders was a refund also mentioned in that notice? If there was a message saying you should receive a refund by X/Y/2025, then you cannot leave a negative feedback, because for some reason ebay has decided that a buyer receiving a refund and not the item ordered, does not deserve a negative.

It was probably about the tariffs..
I don't believe you can leave FB for cancelled orders.. If you do they might be able to have it removed.
Ok there is no consensus on this. I read a LOT of opinions both ways. I've never tried it personally.
You can go to your purchases and try to leave FB.
