feed back removed
Hi, recently bought a car part didn't have time to put it on right away turned out to be defective. It was past 30 days seller refused refund or replacement. Okay policy says 30 days, so I am out $115, but at least I can leave negative feed back for defective item. Feedback does not show up for the seller, I message Ebay , no response, so week later I choose have a representative call me, I get call all sounds helpful. She tells me they have gone to automated system for sellers to remove feedback and the seller had it removed. She read my feedback, didn't think it violated any policies, but a different department handled that she would send it to them for human review of my feedback and I should hear back in 24 -72 hours. A week later nothing, I try the email method in help and contact again, pointing out that I am getting no response and only want my feedback reinstated or to know why it was removed. A week later here I am no response of any sort. If feed back can be removed by sellers, it is kind of useless. If have left negative feedback make sure it isn't removed. Anyone else having similar problems? Thanks

eBay does not "reinstate" feedback that has been removed. Make no difference why it was removed.
The CSR provided a response to placate you and end the call.

·2 years agoIf a return request was decided in the seller's favor, and then the buyer leaves negative feedback because they can't return the item, then the buyer was demanding something that was not included in the terms or description of the sale (a longer return policy).
eBay doesn't allow buyers to leave negative feedback in that situation, so it qualifies for removal because of that, even if you didn't say anything that was against policy. No matter what your intention was, leaving negative feedback in that situation seems vindictive or vengeful.
I'm sorry this didn't go better for you, but that is why the feedback was removed.

·2 years agoThe deciding issue in this case was that the buyer made an unreasonable demand, i.e. asked for something that was not part of the original listing, a return after the return policy had expired.

OP2 years agoThanks for the answer as to their reasoning. However I disagree with it (I know that won't help) if hadn't asked for a refund, couldn't I have just left negative feedback for a defective item. No matter what, they are selling defective product. Makes me have a lot less faith in feedback if sellers can just remove it. I thought disagreeing was the purpose of allowing a seller response. I try to stick with Amazon I guess.

·2 years agoYou're putting too much faith in Amazon. They also won't let you return a defective item after 30 days. And if it was purchased from a third-party seller on Amazon all they're ever going to do is tell you to contact the seller. So the real solution is to not wait beyond 30 days to test things out.
