Fake taking number scam
I bought pokemon tcg booster boxe from a seller, the seller provided the tracking number 7 dates after it was delivered to not my address but the address the seller told the USPS what address to ship it to in my zip code. I checked with my local USPS and they confirmed that my delivery address on my eBay account is not the address on the tracking number my seller provided.
Now eBay is favoring the seller automatically because the tracking info said it got delivered, I already started to appeal this.
Does any have good advice according to eBay policies that can be helpful in receiving from my losses before I escalate to applying for a charge back.

OP10 months agoeBay just favors the seller so the seller has more chances to bring in money regardless of the outcome, until things look very bad and out of eBays control.

·10 months agoAny seller here can tell you that eBay very much does not favor sellers overall. This particular issue they have not addressed, and scammers have been using that to their advantage, but in general buyers are heavily favored both in policies and in decisions made on issues that arise.

OP10 months agoThis has been resolved now. First I filled a item not received case as the item was never addressed to me, I know this as when I asked USPS to confirm the address the tracking was addressed to be shipped to was the same address I have registered to my eBay account the USPS confirmed that tracking number was not addressed to my address I have registered on eBay.

Get a letter from USPS stating that the package with that tracking number was not addressed to you.
Once the INR case is closed:
Go to your purchase history and click return item and select, the item doesn't match the description as the reason.
The seller will have 3 days to accept the return and pay return shipping or refund without returning.
If they don't, return to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.
If the seller provides a shipping label, make a copy of the letter from USPS and ship it to the seller.

·1 year agoLet the eBay case run out before you go to your card company. With that scam, you have to file an item not as described case. And it's true as the scammer did not ship the real item anyway.
If you have an email from the post office, save it. You can submit it to your card company if a charge back is needed. Let them know it's the fake tracking number scam. They know it well. You will win but it takes several months as the first go around is automated. Once a real person takes it, they will see what happened.
It's the fastest growing scam out there. Surpassing the drained gift card scam.
