Fake delivery scam
I am in a situation where I joined a bid on a water well drill machine and the seller originated from china, I was not aware of fake delivery scams through usps. I have contacted ebay and they are still evaluating the case I submitted proof from usps that the package was not addressed to my address. Do you guys think I would get a refund , its a big amount I paid with my debit card $3127

·5 months agoYou received a courtesy refund from ebay (they covered it) and it will not happen again for $3K, or probably a second time at all ever again. You dodged a bullet here.
You ordered something 1) expensive, 2) from Asia, 3) sounds too heavy to ship OVERSEAS when you could pick one up from Lowes... etc. etc.
Not everything is always cheaper just because you found it online. Think about the TARIFFS you'd have had to pay for this if it were real?

·5 months ago@ervar74 I'm sorry. If you opened an Item Not Received case, you will lose that because the tracking shows it was delivered.
You said you contacted eBay and provided proof from USPS that the package was not addressed to you. Was this contact with eBay outside of the Item Not Received case you opened?

OP5 months agoI requested a call from ebay and mentioned it to the customer service, and she stated i should upload the proof from usps on my messages with the seller, and that i should not worry because the seller was contradicting himself on the delivery date.

I'll be honest with you. The reps are not always going to give you the correct response. A lot of times they will tell you what you want to hear. They often do mean well, but they are usually not trained to know what the department that handles these things will do.
Someone here may come along and say they know of a case where a buyer won a fake tracking scam by filing an Item Not Received. I don't know of one. That said, I don't recall reading where a buyer uploaded (what I assume) is a letter from USPS. Normally they don't go get that letter until after the INR has been denied and they come here upset. You are probably in a better position than they normally are. At this point sit tight and see what eBay decides. Keep us posted, especially if you do win it as that will give us some insight on what to tell others.

OP5 months agoI am very frustrated I did soo much research on this thats why I decided to get proof from usps where they did a scan and found out the package was not addressed to my address but it also didnt even weighted what a drilling well machine would. I am on a limbo of what to think I dont want to just start a chargeback , im waiting for another day to see what they respond to me. Any successful stories of anyone getting the money back throughout a chargeback maybe what steps to take to win that way?

OP5 months agoAfter a review from ebay, I was able to get my refund due to sellers lack of eveidene that the package was delivered.

OP5 months agoI had messaged the seller February 27th that i hadn't received my package and he stated wait 5-7 more days and when I opened a claim for non receipt he posted a usps tracking stating package was delivered February 12th do you guys think that would work in my favor, I dont want to be out of $3k . Any suggestions very frustrated at this point

Wouldn't it be too large to be shipped the conventional way? Doesn't seem like something that would be advertised on eBay for only $3K. Wouldn't shipping and tariffs exceed that amount?
