Excluding sellers from search results globally
Is there any way to make a master list of excluded sellers that would apply to all my search results on ebay, rather than having to save each search individually and then customize its list of excluded sellers? this would be VERY helpful as I find myself having to exclude the same sellers from 10 or more saved searches quite often.

·3 years agoThere is another workaround using URL parameters, since these control search results.
I used the excellent instructions noted above to perform a search, then exclude the (fake) sellers "Foo, bar, XYZ" from my results as described (seller tab)
I then stripped the parameters from the URL as follows (the strings get encoded but you can tell where they are)
"&_sasl=foo%2Cbar%2Cxyz&_saslop=2&LH_SpecificSeller=1"
I then keep this in notepad or on my clipboard and every time I do a search, I paste it to the end of the URL that appears, and hit return. Not sure if this helps you any, but it should work (for general searches) and you dont need to save anything except the formatted string that excludes sellers you dont wish to see.
Best wishes.

·3 years agoThe closest you can get currently is to exclude the sellers from a search using the Advanced Search page, then bookmark or save the search results.
Then use the bookmarked or saved search as the starting point for creating new searches and to continue to exclude the same sellers' items from your results each time.

OP3 years agoYour suggestion works for NEW searches BUT the problem arises when you have many saved searches and the same new sellers keep coming up in many of them that need to be excluded. It is such a colossal waste of time to re-edit each search. And it would just be far simpler overall to have one MASTER excluded sellers list applied globally - it would shorten the terms of each saved enormously, probably make the search system faster overall.

If you have a common list of sellers to exclude, create that comma separated list and copy it to your clipboard. Then go to a saved search you want to edit and view the search results. Unsave the search using the heart icon. Click on the Advanced link to go to the Advanced Search page. Paste your excluded sellers into the exclusion list and be sure the check the "exclude" option. Then run the search and save the new search.

Which do you think is ultimately much simpler and much quicker: editing all your saved searches, or convincing eBay to implement a master exclusion list?
Good luck with whichever you choose.
