eBays continued support of fraudulent sellers
I opened my account with eBay in 1995 it was the year eBay became a company if I'm not mistaken. In 2005 I moved to North Carolina and eBay changed my account saying that it was open in 2005 I'm so glad for feedback because if you look at my first feedback it was received in 1995 so how can I open up account in 2005 if I have feedback dating all the way back to 1995 well that's proof positive eBay doesn't have a clue what they're doing. On to my point I constantly purchase items after searching USA only to find out that they come from China with a Chinese company fraudulently using us addresses as their location and eBay knows this so they take my money and either send me junk that is not as described or they don't send you anything at all they just don't respond and keep your money. Here's where it gets interesting after about 6 days of searching I find that eBay has what's called a holding account and that holding account generates 13.8% interest all the money that they get from hundreds of thousands of buyers is put into this holding account where it collects interest eBay keeps the interest tens of thousands of dollars of our money eBay puts in their pocket that's why the do not receive a refund from eBay until 30 days later because they're collecting interest on your money that is highly illegal and there is currently a lawsuit against eBay for doing this. Now go to the better Business bureau eBay has an f- the worst rating that you can get over 137,000 complaints to the better Business bureau eBay is listed as one of the worst internet commerce companies in the world and it's in the United States eBay you have turned into crap garbage the CEO of eBay visited Las Vegas Nevada on a conference and had to be escorted away because people were threatening to beat the crap out of him last conference he ever attended did they change anything nothing.

That is meaningless because all BBB ratings are meaningless. The BBB exists to sell memberships to businesses. They have no power, they do not have your well being as a priority, they exist to make money.

·5 months agoI'm not clicking some random link in a public forum to see. The BBB site I first found turns out to be for Utah and reflected as I posted. BBB Accredited members pay a fee, but not for better ratings. Look up the BBB on Wikipedia and perhaps lose a bit of that cynicism. Good luck!

·5 months agoHi @smklumberco Virtually none of what you write is true. The BBB does not rate eBay among the worst, it doesn't rate eBay at all. Its site still lists Meg Whitman as President and Half.com as an affiliate business, neither of which have been true for decades. If you don't favor eBay for yourself, fine. But don't try to bolster your personal taste with misinformation. Good luck!

TIP; Do Not Shop using Price: Lowest first or Best Match. The first results using those sort options will be mostly from high volume China Based sellers. I use Time: Ending Soonest, That way the lower search visibility (lower volume) seller's items are near the top of the first page. I also feel I have a better chance of having an offer accepted if a Buy It Now item is close to ending.
As for your 1995 account being closed in `05. When you moved online shopping was still in its infancy. eBay hadn't yet set up systems for making changes if an ISP address, financial info, and new email provider was being used. My 1998 account couldn't be updated in `01 when a move changed my internet email provider from AOL to SBC Global.

I did look at your first feedback. There's no way to tell what year it was posted. Your third and fifth feedbacks are negative, posted by sellers . . . but all that means is that they were left before 2008.

·5 months agoIf they take your money and/or send you junk, does that mean that you have never opened an item not received case or an item not as described case with eBay?
If you have had so many bad experiences with eBay, it seems like you should be searching for a buying/selling venue that will work better for you.

·5 months agoThere is a pretty good chance the issue is not ebay - it is the user of ebay at fault. You are on ebay for flea market pricing. If you are so desperate for US sellers, try finding the item from a US retailer.
I have been on ebay roughly as long as you. I learned within the first 6 months of using ebay how to fully protect myself from seller fraud, who not to purchase from & have watched the following decades as scams evolve & gullible people continue to fall for them.
Maybe the internet is too much for you?

·5 months agoTwo things first everything you mentioned about holding is in Ebay's policy so there is nothing illegal when it's spelled out in the terms. Folks go to Better Business Bureau to complain just like folks come here to complain. The difference is a lot of the folks go make complaints to the BBB don't want to listen to reason. There is an assumption instead of logic or reason. Folks like to place blame when everything is really spelled out for them and they don't go over the terms they agreed to.

Any clues? And doesn't your feedback say you were opened in 2006, instead of in 2005?

If it takes that long to receive a refund after it's been issued, that's on your bank.

Ebay has a Money Back Guarantee that you can use to receive a refund. When/if your return request case has been found in your favor, it takes just a few days to receive a refund to the funding source you used to pay for the item.
