I purchased an item a few weeks ago. They somehow sent the item to the wrong person and address in the same zip code as me. USPS tracking shows the package as delivered, but I never received anything. I contacted USPS (twice) by telephone and verified that the package was not addressed to me or my address. Obviously, the seller made a mistake. When I notified the seller of the error, they proceeded to claim that since USPS shows the item as delivered, they have no responsiblity for the fact that I never received it. I managed to convince a USPS agent to text me a photo of their record of the shipping label that shows that the neither the actual addressee nor the shipping address are mine. I asked eBay to rectify the situation, but they closed the case because the USPS tracking shows the package as delivered. Please note that USPS tracking information only shows the Zip code. It does not indicate the name or address of the receiver of a package. I also asked PayPal to assist and they denied my claim for the same reason: USPS shows the package as delivered. So, I am now left with having paid $145 for an item that I never received and no apparent recourse. I would love any suggestion on what I can do at this point.
