eBay said twice they would refund my money - no refund and seller has item worth $1900
So I bought an item worth $1900 which was I was tracking through eBay and it was never being received. I communicated with the seller who just told me nonsense information like "You can pick it up and the customs office" or "its at your delivery point" without telling where. The item was shipped from US to Europe using USPS.
Eventually I managed to track down the package and it had been sent back to seller. The strange thing is, on USPS it stands it was out for deliver, but I checked my smart door bell, it was never. I called the local post office and they said they cant see it was out for delivery either and that tracking information is not always accurate when shared between companies and different countries. I have forwarded this information to eBay, but they wont call the post office and only rely on what the say under the tracking information.
Eventually the item reached back to the seller and I offered the seller to have it reshipped at my expense but I got no answer. I opened a case with eBay and they parted with my side, but then they changed their mind because they are saying I refused the delivery. I talked to an agent who helped me make an appeal because the item was received back at the seller, he said I would get a refund within 24-48 hours and is documented, this was 2 weeks ago.
The seller is refusing to answer any of my messages, although he has multiple listing and was answering within a day before, clearly he thinks that its fine to charge a full amount and keep item, which eBay also seems to, even as twice saying I would get my money back.
What should I do?

Have you looked into getting refunded by your payment source? That seems to be what you need to do at this point.
Continuing to deal with people who aren't being cooperative does not seem to be fruitful ... and must be very frustrating for you.

·3 years agoSounds like it had import duty taxes or signature required. Might have gone out to you and tried to collect tax payment or signature but if taxes were not paid on it or no signature then it got returned back to the post office. Once at the post office, you could have picked it up(per the seller stating that) and paid the import tax on it or signed for it. I guess seller declared it was worth $1900. and probably paid insurance on it.
Our post office leaves notices for attempt deliveries and also where to pick up a package attempt for delivery. I don't know if they do that in the Netherlands. I can see why it sounds like refused delivery and why eBay sided with the seller. Plus re-delivering it would be the same thing again so why would seller send it again. I can see why the seller didn't want have to deal with the problem again.
