Ebay removing negative feedback
Summary: ki_522347 shared their experience with a seller on eBay, where a package supposedly sold from the U.S. actually shipped from Wuhan, China and was delivered to the wrong location. Despite reporting the issue, their negative feedback was removed, leading to concerns about seller transparency. roastedsaurus suggested opening an 'Item Not as Described' case or a dispute with a credit card company, while kathiec explained how sellers sometimes manage to have negative feedback removed. 195819591960 reported a similar experience, accusing eBay of favoring sellers from China by erasing negative feedback. The discussion reflects frustration with perceived eBay policies that protect certain sellers.
I am posting this because buyers need to understand how difficult it can be to warn others when something goes wrong.
The listing presented as a U.S.-based sale, but the shipment activity traced back to Wuhan, China. The tracking ultimately showed a package as delivered in my city, but it was not delivered to my home. It was delivered to a business/shipping and receiving location instead.
There were also discrepancies involving the package information and weight. In other words, a tracking number existed and showed “delivered,” but that did not mean the merchandise I purchased was actually delivered to me.
I reported the transaction to eBay and left negative feedback describing what happened. That feedback was removed. My concern is that when negative feedback documenting an experience like this disappears, other buyers may continue seeing a seller rating that does not reflect the complaints buyers have actually made.
I am not posting speculation. I have the tracking history, delivery information, shipping details, and records from the transaction.
This is exactly why buyers rely on feedback in the first place. If factual negative feedback is removed while the seller remains active, the next buyer has no way of knowing what previous customers experienced.
If you are dealing with a similar situation, save screenshots of the listing, seller location, tracking history, package weight, actual delivery location, seller messages, and any feedback you leave. Do not assume that a tracking status saying “delivered” automatically proves the item was delivered to your address.

·1 week ago · EditedI purchased a Ebay item from a seller, and original tracking time was given as 14 days. But when item never arrived at the late due date and tracking on eBay was worthless all it said was item is in US customs but no location and no movement updates I demanded a refund from seller, which they did not due just kept on saying be patient! So I tried to get a refund from eBay but their was no option to do that until after it arrives!!! this seems to only apply to a seller! So I left negative feed back detailing what happened. today eBay erased that feed back!!! So today I call my credit card company and report it as fraud!! Yes you can do that and get your money back from eBay.

·2 weeks ago · EditedIts impossible for a seller to get negative feedback removed unless there is a feedback policy violation, so there had to be more than "facts" in your comment.
What kind of case did you open with eBay?
It sounds like you are a victim of "Tracking Scam". Open an "Item Not as Described" case. The seller will have a few days to respond with either a refund or a shipping label to return the item.
You can also open a dispute with your credit card company, but don't do that unless you've exhausted your options with eBay. Once opened, eBay will back out and no longer be of help.

·2 weeks agoNo, it's not impossible for a seller to get feedback removed that doesn't violate a feedback policy. It's not as easy as many posters seem to believe, but not impossible. TRS can generally get negative feedback removed if they issue a refund. And when an MBG case is found in favor of the seller no feedback can be left by either party, so a neg left prior to the case being decided will be removed. That's what usually happens with the fake tracking scam; the buyer opens an item not received case, the case is settled in favor of the seller, and the negative feedback is removed.

·1 week agoThey should remove the entire feedback system ... it's obviously useless and all it really does is cause arguments, like this one.

·2 weeks ago · EditedYou are correct, I should have been more precise. Your examples are all within policy. But after the FTC thing, the "courtetsy" ones are gone.

OP2 weeks ago · EditedI opened a case for an item not received, and the seller admits I did not receive it but never explains why. I was told there were two or three separate packages with master and sub tracking numbers for two little needohs. The second red flag was that the seller says they are located in Illinois, however, the order was being shipped out of Wuhan, China, to a warehouse instead of my address. I was told this matches every criterion for a common scam, and yet eBay leaves them up for more unsuspecting people to be impacted. They should be sued.
