eBay removed negative feedback left, not doing anything to stop seller of counterfeit items
I bought some Bruder eye masks from a seller that were definitely counterfeit. I took pictures of them next to my genuine one from Amazon. The label had typos, color was different, strap was missing the text "Bruder" normally imprinted on it. The material and what's inside the masks also feels different and it barely got warm after 20 seconds in the microwave, totally different from the real one. I contacted Bruder and they confirmed it sounded like a fake and said if the label says Made in China, it's a fake because the masks are made in India. I sent this to the seller and the seller refused to refund me insisting it was guaranteed authentic. Eventually I had to open a case and ask eBay to step in. It's now on its way back to the seller and I will be refunded once it's delivered.
But the seller is still actively selling these masks. I reported the listing as counterfeit and within an hour got an email back from eBay saying they investigated and it doesn't go against their policy. I then reported the seller. I also reported this to a couple different customer service reps who did nothing.
Most shady: I left a negative review for the seller stating it was counterfeit, and the review was deleted - poof - within maybe half an hour.
It's all pretty amazing to me that eBay is doing absolutely nothing to stop it and even hid my rating warning other buyers. I've done all I can. I'm saying all this just to say, don't trust eBay at all.

·11 months agoRecently eBay was able to get out of a EPA fine because when eBay appealed the fine it was determined that eBay does not actually sell anything. EPA was going to appealed the decision to dismiss the fine but has since dropped their appeal because eBay does not actually sell anything.
With that ruling against the EPA for the attempted fine, I would speculate that eBay does not have to monitor anything that a law is not strictly written that a Marketplace Facilitator must not allow a sale from their site.

Ebay gives you a 30 day moneyback guarantee. You returned the item and will be getting a refund. Ebay is not an expert. They will not be able to determine if the masks are counterfeit which is why not only did they remove your feedback but also not remove the listing/seller. Get your refund and move on. Let Bruder handle it if they want to.
