eBay money back guarantee
eBay’s “Money Back Guarantee Is A Sham!â€
I purchased a “Pepper†robot from a Japan seller, “MAKIMAKI JAPAN,†on, “eBay,†who claimed he could send it out by 9/19/24, he only had 1 in stock. A day after the purchase, the seller relisted the item. Then, I looked into his negative feedback and found that his other customers never received their items. I also noticed the seller was using photos from another seller on, “eBay,†that had sold the same item. Knowing that I was never getting the robot, I asked to cancel the sale and refund my money, the seller refused and claimed it was already being shipped. I contacted, â€eBay,†and said I could contact the seller and ask to cancel the sale. After I asked to cancel the sale on, “eBay,†the representative told me I have to wait 3 days before, “eBay,†could step in and help. I called, “eBay,†after 3 days and the representative told me to wait another day; he also told me I should leave the seller negative feedback, as this would help my case. The next day, I was appalled to find that the seller had asked, “eBay,†to remove my negative feedback, which they did, and have done for sellers in the past. This is totally dishonest! eBay, claims that the dishonest seller had got a tracking number 4 days ago, but I was not made privy to this till the last minute. Till this day, the shipping label has been created, but there has been NO MOVEMENT WHATSOEVER! I have since contacted PayPal and they told me to wait 10 days, until October 4. If they don’t hear from the seller by then, I should be able to receive my refund. At this point, I don’t trust any of them, and I don’t know if or when will I receive my refund. The point I’m trying to convey is, I should NOT have to go through this crap to cancel an order and get my money back. SHAME ON EBAY for allowing dishonest sellers on their site, and hiding necessary reviews that customers need to see.

·2 years agoALL eBay buyers, as well as ALL eBay sellers, need to read and study eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers. It's quite good, when used appropriately, and in the 30 day time frame. You have no need to contact eBay when you don't receive your purchase within a few days. As eBay explains in the MBG, you go to that purchase in your Purchase History and open an item not received case. 96 hours later, still no package and no response from the seller? Return to the case and ask eBay to step in.
If, however, there was tracking showing delivery, eBay would have disallowed your claim. And, now that Paypal is involved, eBay's help is done with. Sorry you were unaware of your options, but that fact doesn't mean that the "MBG is a scam".

Sorry you picked a scrub seller. Yes, it'd be glorious if eBay could disallow the bums from peddling here.
Keep in mind that the seller's negative feedback that you looked into was all the necessary "reviews" that you needed before buying from that seller. There are many good sellers here and I hate to see anyone throw out the eBay with the bathwater.
Now... make yourself whole, even if it means calling your payment provider. Better luck moving forward.

·2 years agoDid you read the MBG?
1 day after the last estimated delivery date you can file an Item Not Received.
Sellers do not even have to have tracking.
You bought it on a Thursday from Japan and expect it Wednesday.
You need to have patience and wait until the estimated receipt date has passed.

·2 years agoOn Ebay, the seller doesn't have to cancel an order.
Ebay gave you an estimated delivery date.
When you don't receive your item that date, the next day you file an INR and use the MBG to get a refund.
Now that you opened a case through Pay Pal, you'll have to work with them.
Ebay will no longer be any help.
