eBay Live is out of control
Seriously. I've seen eBay make a lot of bad decisions since it started, but eBay Live is one of the most annoying. I don't want to go to the site or open the app only to find obnoxious live streams. This isn't TikTok or YouTube. At a minimum there needs to be a way to completely disable this waste of screen space and bandwidth. It would be better to eliminate it entirely, but I don't expect the executives to back down from a bad thing. They almost never do.

·2 weeks agoeBay live is a cruel way to conduct auctions, subjecting us to talentless plodding through things we could more easily see as an item in their store--then resetting the timer to kill late bids and prey on so much uninformed instant gratification. It's why we're at record credit card debt in the USA, and people live with pods outside their doublewides #outstuffmorestuffin. It's the sad state of 'duh-maxing' in the land of 24/7 screen time. I think if PT Barnum were alive today, and using Live, he'd say there was one born every nanosecond. eBay live should have its own separate page, with a link like 'watched items' or 'poop on a stick'.

·2 weeks agoI completely agree. No way to stop the autoplay listings from distracting, annoying, and infuriating me. And you can't even stop autoplay from the settings. And to go desktop only to avoid it is also no bueno.

Use ebay on your desktop exclusively.
Set your homepage to Seller Hub.
Never see "ebay live" again. Easy peasy 🙂

OP3 months agoUsing it only on a desktop is hardly a solution. It's an inconvenient workaround for user hostile design.
