ebay is removing negative feedback even when no refund is issued
I have opened a case against two sellers who are blatantly lying about the quality / type of items they are selling. In one case, the seller is advertising "rubber feet" for a stand I use in my shop. I ordered them and received cheap 3-d printed garbage, not "rubber" at all. I opened a case against seller and ebay closed it in sellers favor, with NO REFUND for me. Keep in mind, there is no mention in the seller's ad of the feet being 3-d printed. Just that they are "rubber". I can no longer reopen the case. I left negative feedback and it was immediately removed.
Since this has happened to me twice now (exact same scenario both cases) I can only assume ebay is intent on letting dishonest sellers use their platform.

OP8 months agoI did file an Item not as described case, but ebay closed it without explanation.
This has happened to me twice. Luckily in both cases my credit card dispute was resolved in my favor.

Your feedback would have been removed automatically when the seller won the case. That’s been eBay policy for many years.
I’m wondering you lost the case in the first place. What reason did you give for requesting a return? Saying the item ‘Didn’t match the description’ should have been sufficient to win immediately.

It sounds like you filed an Item Not Received (INR) dispute when you should have filed an Item Not As Described (INAD) dispute. You only file an INR when you do not receive anything. When an INR dispute is filed by mistake, an INAD dispute can still be filed if it is within the 30 day return window.

'Item not as described' should be the eBay claim you had to do and return it.
Rather easy to return something in 30 days where seller sends you a return label for a refund.
Any derogatory negative feedback can be removed by the seller or eBay depending on the words or wordage in the feedback.

OP9 months agoI started the return process within the 30 days. After a couple days I logged in to check status and the return was closed with no explanation. If I try to open another return, it's now outside the window.
When I purchased the item, there was nothing stating the item was "rubberized" or "3d printed" in either the listing title or description. I think the seller has updated the description after my negative feedback.
Bottom line: there is nothing at all "rubber" like about the item purchased. It's a deceptive tactic. The item is plastic / 3d-printed, it doesn't look or feel like rubber. it doesn't grip like rubber which is the whole point of putting the feet on the stand.
What I will do is dispute the charge on my credit card, and only use ebay as a last resort when I absolutely need something and there are no other options.

·9 months agoWhat was the exact reason you selected for returning the item?
That may explain why your return was rejected by the seller.

·9 months agoOdd, listing shows no "revisions" after Nov 5, 2025

OP8 months agoThat's right around the time I made the purchase and opened the dispute. It also doesn't excuse the seller for continuing to use "rubber" in the most visible parts of the listing. He has rubber listed in the title without mention of 3D printed. He has rubber listed in the large font header on the listing, with no mention of 3D printed. The blurb about "rubberized 3D printed" is just more deception. There is no such thing as "rubberized 3-d printed". It's either rubber or it isn't.
Why is there always someone ready to defend these shady seller tactics? It never fails.

OP9 months agoI should also mention: my negative feedback was very level headed. I simply stated that the "rubber" feet were 3-d printed. There was no name calling, harsh language, etc.

·9 months agoThe negative you left @mwest777 is still there. You have to sort by "most recent" to see it near the top.

OP9 months ago@lakefor94 Thank you. I wasn't sorting by most recent, so this was my bad. Glad to see it's still there! However, I'm still out over $63 unless my credit card company agrees to the chargeback.

·9 months agoFiling with the credit card issuer with the reason of "item not as described" or "defective" is usually a slam dunk for the buyer.
